I think my ignition or injectors are the issue currently. Still trying to learn what everything means D5E4BC13-9B67-4861-955D-9BEC9E47B53C.jpg

He is working out some OBD codes, but if he gets them to go away then he should be good.

Did you figure out the issue and get it started yet?

The reference detection is the cause. Hypothesizing, I believe you may have your crank trigger setup for reading the wrong direction of rotation. Do you understand what I mean by that?

Don't have any experience with the Rotrex kit but for the cost you could have a super solid turbo set up. I'm a first gen so I can't comment on the maintenance time for the 4.0 turbos out there. I am tuned using a FIC6 piggy back and my set up is overall pretty low budget and simple, I have to go over my tune twice a year in a state where average air temps sway from 0 to 100 F. My truck is my DD and I'm also using extremely oversize injectors. I think if you take the time and spend the money to do it right the first time you can have a turbo set up that requires little to no post-installation tuning.

This is kind of a soul searching question. There is no real guarantee the Rotrex kit will be any less finicky. I would focus your decision making on what type of boost delivery you want.

Most of the comments was top mount for somewhat low power goals.

How would this go for a Tacoma, really help with having a winch and not much room for a front mount

You'd need a hood scoop and a vent from the scoop to the IC otherwise you may as well forgo the IC all together. I've actually wondered how an IC-less set up would go with methanol injection.

Appreciate the honesty and thorough response man. Haven't done any research on the FIC6 setups, will consider that/look into it. Who does your tuning? What can it control? If you rebuilt your kit today including extras like gauges, fuel setup, etc etc how much would you budget?

I know what you mean about saying the rotrex may not be any less effort or headache. I have read through a few threads of people having issues as well granted I think they all turned out to not be related to the UCONN. It seems like a really smart system.

I did ask gadget and sounds like I will be able to run the URD kit on my '15 after I remove the air pump system. I am trying to weigh the costs/benefits of turbo vs. the stage III + meth.

I would think finding a short and long IC that fits in your given space would be easiest, then just get some tubing fabbed. Probably the cheapest route. Could always remove the grille and place it there. I think it'd be awesome looking too haha
