    Who's had higher pressure? And what pressures at what RPMs? :stirthepot:

    I am thinking that it may advance faster with a higher oil pressure until it reaches the desired timing. Should be a non issue. Higher oil pressure is a great thing with what we are gonna be doing

    I don’t know too much about valve timing, but I’m sure there is a position sensor.

    I’ve read a few times from guys that’s done it to a 3RZ, apparently not a problem for them (but also no VVTI).

    So watching the videos a second time I don’t think it will be a problem with a Haltech- they use cam and crank sensors for position and meter the oil to it to get the position they want and maintain it. I don’t know how a stock ecu manages it, was thinking they took the oil pressure into account but probably not now that I’m dwelling on it a little.

    Finally had my first issue (non-turbo related) in a while.
    Driving home from my parents house yesterday (about a 3hr drive) in the pouring rain, all of a sudden my truck started stumbling/hesitating and I was watching the wideband bounce rich and lean.
    Truck finally threw a code, Mass Air Voltage High input...knowing it wasn't my MAF (swapped a new Hitachi in when i put the turbo on, and cleaned it about 2 weeks ago), I took a squirt bottle and sprayed each coil and sure enough, it started arcing.
    Stopped at an AutoZone on my way into work, bought 4 new (Duralast- shutup I'll get Densos down the road probably, but these have a lifetime warranty) coils and problem solved. Swapped them shits right in the parking lot while I left the EFI fuse unplugged.

    Apparently it must've been going back over some time, because the truck feels 1000% better when accelerating now!
    ...it's the little things that annoy you the most!

    Interesting. Wonder what made it break down? Where was it arcing from specifically?
