Is yours vented to atmosphere, or back to the intake?

Is your pcv system no longer attached to the intake, as in OEM routing, or is the valve cover still having air pulled from it, by the intake?

I’m not saying I don’t believe you, but if the exhaust has any pressure above ambient at idle, then you are not getting any work done. Sure it may work at speed because of the Bernoulli Principal, but I wouldn’t do it

The pressure is not relevant because it’s negligible compared to the flow of the exhaust where you would be tying it into. Theirs never actual excess of psis into the rear of a well built exhaust because its open to the atmosphere at the end.

I feel like we covered this on some level, in the past. Perhaps. Thoroughly ruling it out as a vacuum leak.

Refresh my memory please. The valve cover, in no way, has vacuum hoses attached to the intake manifold, correct?

Not the most recent. As of last night. All that currently is left of this portion, is the flange.
Has four opposing 5 dab beads, but nothing more.

Well I ended up getting all the wiring diagrams for the 3rd gen. That wire had a short in it from something I’m not exactly sure.

I finally got tired of Toyota trying to blame it on this and that of my accessories and took it into my own hands. Toyota had my truck for over 40 days. Had my dash apart they said etc. Wiggled Wires I guess and it was back to fine. Took it to another dealership which has been great but their hands were tied because of the regional FTS stating this and that and that he knows it’s something plugged into the back of my Entune System. Well, it wasn’t but how would you know unless you actually looked. It took me 4 1/2 hours, and that’s generous, to fix this issue. That’s removing the entire dash to look over the whole wire harness to make sure there was no more damage, make the necessary repairs, and reinstall the entire dash.

4 1/2 hours and it was fixed! I could have had this fixed 7 months ago by Toyota when I gave them the approval to just diagnose my truck, not even fix it at that point bc we didn’t know what was the issue, for $1,100 and they still couldn’t do that!! All I have to say is I am lucky I still have a truck and I am lucky my truck didn’t catch on fire.

Oh and by the way, while I was inside my dash, i found out that Toyota installed my automatic starter by just cutting OEM wire in half and just twisting wires together. No tape, no nothing. It was just a matter of time for that bullshit to go wrong too.

Yeah and that was installed as part of my purchase from the dealership. So no, I’m not trying to take this route to tap into anything! Just trying to actually fix the problem with my truck so it can be a truck that is under 35k miles.

That's a pretty good find! Nice work. That must've taken some serious patience.

It amazes me how crappy of work some dealers do. Earlier this year I posted on a thread warning a guy not to take his truck to the dealer because of this exact half assed work and everyone in there jumped all over my ass.

Thanks mate! It has a lot more color in its current state. I'll post more pictures when I get back to the weld grotto.

I prefer to keep the welds "white", but on the multiple passes necessary for the pie cuts, it won't happen.

That sucks, glad you figured it out.
Next time try explaining the issue as you ask for help, you'll likely get more help and less suspicion- as you have found there are hacks jobs and nobody wants any part of that.
Please take time to contribute the wiring to the forum, something like this:

Can't decide how i'm going to install the PCV back into the turbo's intake. I wanted to weld a bung in but there wouldn't be enough room to clamp the silicone coupling.
Could I put it on the outlet side of turbo, vacuum like you guys were talking about the exhaust?
