    This is a little confusing but I think what you guys are saying is that I need to have the Bov dump right before the throttlebody or right before the turbo or to atmosphere

    The bov came with green spring (-15in/hg) I ordered the pink (-20in/ hg) so hopefully that's all I need

    You can try a stiffer spring but get rid of the "recirc" tube while your at it. If you want to keep it, swap the MAF/recirc tube position.

    When you say swap the maf/recirc tube position do you mean have it dumped at the throttlebody

    No what I mean is have it dump on the filter side of the MAF. Currently it dumps at the mouth of the Turbo but the charged air flows from there towards and out of your air filter.

    Move the recirc tube on the other side of the MAF; think of it as a bypass tube rather than recirc tube to bypass the MAF.

    The recirc BOV should ALL be post MAF and pre turbo. It is already measured air from the maf. That is the whole point of a recir BOV is to keep the air that the MAF has measured in the system.

    the problem with his setup is that he has...well no tubing with no IC.

    This is also why running the MAF pre turbo is handy, because the recir BOV should also be preturbo. That way it is venting to an area that isn't boosted..otherwise its just ''venting" pressurized air....into pressurized air.

    Spring and BOV tuning isn't going to change that...period.

    Proper routing will.

    Be better off probably venting into the atmosphere right now.

    I thought that too but apparently thats just a missconception. the "metered air" is still pressurized when its vented pre turbo and has to flow somewhere. It flows out the air filter and over the MAF.

    The metered air is not remembered, the MAF just sends a voltage signal to the ECU. The goal should be the make sure air flow through the TB and aif flow over the MAF is exactly the same. When the TB closes, you need to make sure air stops flowing over the MAF just as sudenly, otherwise you go too rich.

    may as well vent it then with that logic. Your thinking only works if the TB closed 100%. Which it doesn't. Hell you basically aren't running a BOV at all if its just doing a short loop post MAF and post Turbo. Not doing anything..

    A re-circulated BOV is one where the boost pressure is re-circulated back into the intake just before the turbo. This type of set-up is a must for those that are running a Mass Air Fuel ( MAF) sensor. The reason for this is that the MAF has already accounted for the air that is in the intake manifold, and if it was allowed to escape to the atmosphere, the car would run overly rich due to the fact that the ECU still believes that the air is in the intake tract. A bonus to running a re-circulated BOV is that the air being re-circulated can be brought back into the turbochargers intake pipe at a location and angle so that the air pressure is forced directly onto the compressor wheel. This will aid even more in helping to keep the turbo spooled up and running in-between shifts, or times when you are quickly on and off the gas pedal. A turbo type made by borg warner turbo systems called the EFR series has a build in, re-circulated BOV built into the turbo's compressor housing.
