I'm going to recirculate a BOV, what should be some guidelines when deciding on which one? Does anyone have any experience with a Turbosmart Kompact Plumb Back?

Since you're not using the MAF sensor, you have the options of before or after the MAF.

I'm going to put it almost immediately after turbo so is a short distance to return to turbo intake, any problems with this? I'll just have a longer vacuum line to post TB

    edit:
or is it a rule-of-thumb to put it close to TB?

I am assuming that you have completely removed your sensor. I still have mine in for modularity's sake. However, like you, I use the MAP sensor instead. Thus using the MAP it could be before or after the MAF.

The closer to the compressor outlet, the more efficient. That is how manufacturers can get away with integrated BOV's.

With your plan, you'll reduce a lot of additional routing.

My BOV is integrated, on my EFR. No signs of compressor surge, @ 6 psi. As I increase the boost, I'll keep and ear on it. Possibly throw an external one on later.

Yeah, it's currently in place for air intake temp but after the swap it'll be completely gone.
    That's good news, thanks

So no word on the Turbosmart Kompact Plumb Back or any other BOV for this purpose?

I've seen plenty used, but no personal experience.

    Also look into GFB.

Got a lot of stuff lol
How different do you think the internals are from a fake hks and a real one. My real one has a section missing from the bottom part that interfaces with the flange. Do you think it would be possible to strip a fake one and just use the housing?

GFB T9301 looks identical to Turbosmart TS-0203-1222 but more expensive, think I'll just go with the Turbosmart. Thanks for the word

Turbosmart is good. I had one for a bit. Likes to be lubed it with white lithium grease every 5 to 10k miles.

So remove the cap and grease the bore where the silicone wiper slides?

Yeah the moving internals. This was back in 2012. Not sure if it changed, but mine would get sticky after a while and get slow. Easy fix.

    A thing or two...
2008 or 2009 was the last year of the mechanical LSD, so I think ATRACS came out in 2009 or 2010 which would be an electrical change. Also, I believe side curtain airbags because standard in 2009 or 2010.

The BOV in my WRX recircs from right after the turbo back to the turbo inlet.

The Boomba Racing BPV is popular on the WRX. It would be easy enough to make it work on a custom setup. You'd just need a couple silicone couplers and attachment points on your plumbing.

Any reason you know as to why? It looks stout but it's quite a bit more expensive than the Turbosmart.
