Why do you need a wastegate actuator? If your turbo is IWG, it will typically include the WG and actuator. If your turbo is EWG, you don't need an actuator. Or are you looking for boost control solenoid recommendations?

Going to assume he wants an adjustable internal wastegate actuator like a Turbosmart or Mamba, with different springs.

It is IWG but every site I've seen for the gtx2860r the actuator isnt included for some reason.

I take it Mamba is the bees knees? I was already looking at those lol

I've got the Mamba and I love it. Zero issues changing springs or getting it dialed in. The amount of springs they include is nice, too. From 5-25psi for my GT2871R.

Anyone hear of anything wrong with the cheap ebay blankets?

Thermal Zero. More budget based, but made in the US. Never had an issue with it. Just don't expect it to look like a $200 blanket. They make them for internal gated turbines too.

I used a black Amazon (ebay) blanket for a year, and then changed to to an amazon blue one for some extra flair. The black one was starting to get a little brittle but still serviceable. As cheap as they are, I'll just buy a new one every year and keep my engine bay updated. I'm sure there's better quality out there, but serves me fine.

    I switched from 0w-20 to 5w-30.
Always ran Amsoil Signature Series, though. Just wanted a little thicker to keep it from being too thin and heating up in the turbo too much.

It's funny, if I use anything but Amsoil, I'll get a slight oil smell when the turbo is hot. Amsoil? Never get a whiff.

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
Generally recomended you go up weight but not sure. Modern engines are pretty tight in their specs so going higher in weight can cause more wear, however the heavier weight is recomended for turbos. I went from 5w30 to 5w40 (1st gen V6) but my engine also has 130k miles on it... I had to get a euro spec oil for that weight.

Research it a bit more before deciding would be my answer.

Anyone in here do slow speed offroading with there turbo? How are the temps under the hood? Contemplating if I want to add louvers to my hood or not.

Another heat related question, wrap the manifold or not? Seems to be a difference of opinion out there on whether they do more harm than good.

What is the main focus of race car teams? Heat abatement.

If you have good quality, wrap it. Mild steel....it's on a short life anyway.

I was reading an article on NASCAR teams, most quit using it because they were destroying headers so frequently.

So stainless manifold should be no problem, right?
