Same principal, different application. Fluid line, pumping hydraulic oil has static pressure of "xx" psi. Motor still pumping, line valve is closed. (For the sake of this argument, closed to 96%. Simulating a idle postition of closed.) With a pressure gauge attached in that line, you can watch the line pressure gradually increase, as the valve is slowly closed. Up to "xxx" psi. Same fluid dynamics. Bypass valve or pressure release valve, or reopening the manual valve, brings the pressure back to normal.

Again. Different application, but same principals happening. Both are F/I pumps. Liquid or air it does not change the fluid dynamics.

This is also why fleet vehicles have known turbo failures, why silicone couplings burst, charge pipes blow out of couplings, and shaft play inducing compressor blade/housing contact happens. Already dealt with it on one turbo. Recorded the pressure problem impacting the turbo operation even.

Save the turbo. TB engines are more stress inducing than non TB enegines. I.E. Diesel. Doesn't mean that diesels don't greatly benefit either though.

I understand what you are saying; I'm just saying it’s been measured :notsure: The spike in pressure was about one additional PSI. If you are running a turbo balls out to the limit, that one extra PSI may be the straw that breaks the back but I think most people would be ok with that small spike.

    Here's another good explanation:

Bunch of us local as guys on here do a Thursday meet at a different sd brewery. Last night was San Diego brewing company. Haven't ran into Vance for a little while. Think he deploys pretty soon. Talked to him last week.

Another discussion if you are interested:

    http://www.mr2oc.com/61-3sgte-turbo/445311-removed-my-bov-what-difference.html

And I found the boost spike mapping with no BOV:

Furhter in the discussion you see that the BOV actually isn't able to react fast enough to eliminate the spike so it makes no difference either way:

Ok, do you know if you're going into closed loop? Did you clean the supra injectors when you got them, one could be hung open. Your problem seems similar to mine... I eventually replaced my coolant temp sensor because it was reading -40F and dumping waaaaaaaaaaayyyyy too much fuel into the engine. If you have a scangauge I would check: Are you going into closed loop and what is the coolant temp?

And if you can check your fuel pressure as well.

Also don't worry about the air assist nozzle thing several people on here are running aftermarket injectors without that plastic tip with no issues (myself included).

Your issue was the coolant tempt sensor????? :der:

Wow..wonder if that is my issue..

Thanks for the welcoming and relies guys!

I have my scan gauge running, so I can see it is going into closed loop.
I bought the injectors as reconditioned units through rock auto, so no I did not "clean them" (I assume you mean having them sent out to a cleaning service like RC injector) before installing.
I don't recall exactly what my coolant temp was reading, but I will go look at my log that I recorded and see if I can bring it up. I do know the other sensor that feeds the dash gauge is working and thats showing normal operating temp.

I don't have a thorough enough understanding of how a fuel injector operates to understand what could cause one to not interact with the trucks inputs though. Other than the difference between high and low impedance injectors and there differing ohm readings what else could be the cause for an injector to not be compatible?

I don't think your issue is them being noncompatable. Make sure your MAF table is empty and make sure your o2 table is empty as well. And I don't remember but have you tried changing your injector pulse width?

Ive triple checked that the MAF and O2 maps are empty, or all 0s.
I have changed the pulse widths, which didn't seem to have much of an effect, but when I max it out around 4050um it seemed like it helped it idle just a little bit better.
I just checked the log and the AEM doesn't record engine temp, oddly enough. So next time I fire it up I will check it with my scan gauge. (Before I installed these injectors it was seemingly working fine though. Water temp is one of the gauges I usually keep displayed on the scan gauge).

I run a bypass valve in the car to keep it quiet. I run one in the truck to keep it annoying.

Just remembered that I have a spare nipple in my charge pipe, for a boost reference. I can swap over the vacuum hose for the boost gauge. Once I get the turbo installed again, it will be a good opportunity to give it a test. Quite curious.
