Once the Hemp business picks up, there will be an enrichment of the area and more things will be available lol I plan on making that a priority as I will need entertainment locally

Anywhere tobacco can grow, Hemp will flourish. Kentucky was the epicenter of hemp in its hayday, so I fully intend to make it the same again! It is the green rush, and the acceptance of hemp for textiles and medicine, will inject health and wealth into the communities. It is the new cash crop

This R155 is painfully awful off the line, first gear is ridiculous. I could have 800hp and a Rav4 would beat me in 1/8 mile, hands down. @MrCrowntown any thoughts on better trans? Or swap first gear? Our first is 3.95:1, they changed the 3rd gens' 5-speed first to 4.31:1
I'm curious if the R154's first is interchangeable, it's 3.251:1
I've got a 5th with better overdrive, it's easy to get to but 1st would mean tear the whole thing down. I'd do it if I had it out and apart for the 5th.

 

Supposedly the R Transmissions have same bolt pattern, so if input shaft is splined the same and of acceptable length then a 2JZ T56 swap kit could work?

 

And of course the venerable A340, which has been found in 8 second Toyotas but that would mean a manual to auto conversion

 

The CD009 from the Nissan 350z is a popular swap behind the 2jz. Plus you get an extra gear out of it too. Collins Performance is the pioneer in CD009 swap kits.

Yeah, I test drove the 2nd gen a few years back and didnt like the 1st gear at all. Re-gearing your diff might help but won't do you any favors at the top end.

 

i liked my z trans when i had that car. smooth shifts and drove great. way better than this t56 shift garbage

I just re-geared to 4.88 w/ 255/85 r16 KM2s. Running a healthy 2500rpm at what reads to be 60mph on the dash. Still no clue what my actual speeds are, just don't pass people as often now and go with the flow to avoid a ticket.

 

I love my a340 especially after the transgo kit. Also there's plenty of replacements for cheap locally

 

I downloaded an app called DigiHUD after I regeared and ran it for awhile to figure how far off I was. It's a GPS speedo/odo program.
