Hey guys, I'm about to install a MAC 35A-AAA-DDBA-1BA to control boost.
    35.jpg

I'm seeing two different ways to plumb it; both have #2 port going to boost reference but then either #1 or #3 has the nipple to actuator (other has the sintered plug).
I have a 10psi spring installed and want the controller closed until 12psi and then open. Which way to plumb it?

    I ran mine
    1. Vent
    3. Wastegate
    2. Compressor housing.

Add duty cycle to increase boost.
    0% spring pressure
    100% full interrupt.

I'm just now looking at the Haltech settings, lots more there than I imagined. I'm painting a TRD Pro looking grill to cover the intercooler atm but will wire this in after and see what I get out.

I mounted up @boostedka old intercooler today. It's big compared to my old soda can for an intercooler I had on it. Just need to make some custom brackets. I'm going to break off that side mount first trip.

Felt good to wrench again. first weekend it hasn't rained in a while.

Ive been into AWD 4 cylinder turbo cars for a long time, and have enjoyed 30psi plus daily for many years. I recently decided my 2004 Tacoma needed some boost and found a stupid good deal on the TRD SC. I really wish I put together a turbo setup at this point, but for now am trying to squeeze whatever I can out of the SC on pump gas/methanol and a 2.1 pulley.

I am trying to tune with an AEM FIC-6 and am having a miserable time. This is a wideband truck. The AEM FIC6 uses O2 skewing which I cannot seem to get any quantifiable adjustment out of. Therefore, the results produced by my fuel table adjustments are erratic and far from repeatable. For this truck on 11psi this nonsense may pass because of the meth but if I went turbo for higher boost levels, I would be needing rock solid, predicable, repeatable control over fuel delivery.

Is there anybody in here who has solid control with this unit on a later model Gen. 1 truck with oem wideband? AEMs video on how to set this up makes it look like ABC and done, and maybe it would be if it actually worked, but I cant seem to get it to work how they say it should, and I have yet to find anyone who has for that matter.

Ive noticed alot of Toyota guys have tried the FIC......... and then ditched it.......

Are there any solid, affordable management solutions for this platform? This thing is bumming me out..........

Any input on this topic would be great! Thanks!

    Two options.

Continue to mess with fuel tables. Can't really help you.

    Or,

With meth injectors, leave fuel mapping alone and tune the meth injector off your boost.

Are you're running the URD 7th injector kit? That should be plug n play.

Well I have to hope that there are more options than just those two.............

Im using 312cc toyota injectors and the methanol is controlled with a Devils Own progressive unit. Im aware of, and so far have had no choice, but to do the two things you mentioned. What I am hoping for is:

-info from anyone who has experience with the AEM FIC-6 O2 skewing and actually got it to work.......or tried even

-info on other engine management options that make sense

Im not looking for plug and play really, I need something I can nail the tune with on 6 injectors.......I cant justify a Haltech for this project just yet and am hoping maybe theres something out there you guys are using I havent seen.

Do you have a proper wide band sensor?

You need to tune the injector the add o2 offset to keep the ECU from adjusting the fuel trim. Does this sound about what got atw attempting to do?

See the issue is, is that the sensor that runs my ECU is a narrowband. We were talking in PM's some, but I'm waiting for a reply to something still. I also need to find my ssd with all the ECU pinouts, to confirm his sensor tap.

Yes, I have a proper AEM Uego wideband, and have its output hooked up to the FIC input for logging purposes. Does what its supposed to.

I have a fair amount of experience with tuning other platforms and am quite familiar with all of the components required for a forced induction setup......

I picked up this AEM FIC so I could tune the truck, but it does not seem to work as AEM intended on this particular vehicle.

Really hope I made a mistake wiring it but Ive gone over everything and confirmed all terminals and even confirmed proper voltage samples on every connection that was even remotely questionable.

Has anyone out there actually had the O2 skewing take any affect at all? That is the issue here.......O2 skewing does not work.

Just checked the box-entered 1 into the o2 table globally as I held throttle at 2krpm and watched AFR jump from 14.7 to 12.5 as I did so.

Cased closed. All about the check box!

    Thanks TMFF!!

I will report back with how solid the control is once I have some time too spend on it
