Being that the OEM ECU can be tuned now, that opens up a huge possibility.

 

That's the idea, swap the bottoms. First I'll measure against ours' and see if by chance they're the same. They look 3-pin in pics, so I'm about to look into electrical side of it, ours' are 4-pin

Ours has feedback to the ECU, so it knows the coils are firing. I'm sure that's what's missing on R35 coil.

 

Yeah, hopefully that doesn't matter with a Haltech

idk man, not sure how the stock ecu will react with not seeing it. Maybe is another way, not sure. I'm working on fitment and finding GT-R wiring diagram atm. Maybe that's something that can be turned-off by HP Tuners (hint-hint)

 

Its basically the coil sending a confirmation that it fired. If the ECM doesn't get the confirmation, it set a fault thinking the coil didn't fire.

Provided that is the only function, yes you could turn it off with HP Tuners.

I’ve spent weeks reading this entire thread. I’ve read a good bit of the 1gr turbo build threads. Now I need boost moneys. Idk if I understood any of it but I want it. Now.

 

Finally giving in and trying out the Hewitt-Tech SAIS Bypass Kit for my truck. Being that inspection is coming up, and with warmer weather here already, the system is running at startup so I've been clearing the code every other startup or so. It's not proven to work on the 2012+ 2.7's, but I don't feel like playing beat the clock with getting an inspection before the CEL comes back on lol.

You guys on your Haltechs don't have to worry about bypassing the SAIS, do you?

You can delete all the SAI stuff with HP Tuners and do a bunch of other stuff inc

Hptuners only has the 1GR listed as in beta, nothing about the 2TR, so that got ruled out.

Paul at Hewitt said as long as the pump doesn't run at shutdown, I should be fine to use the kit I bought. If it doesn't, he said he'll allow a full refund since it hasn't been tested on 13.

 

Did you disconnect the pump, switching valve, and pressure sensor? I simply relocated my switching valve and left everything else. The pump runs, but instead of pushing air into the exhaust, it just pushes it into the engine bay. And I can't remember, are you on stock ecu right now?
