Turbo BS Thread

I had a boosted sr20 a long time ago but I dont know much. Thinking a good first move would be to have a shop install forged pistons and rods and go from there. I got quoted 3k for the labor but for the price I might snag up a low mile block and do it myself. There's a local 500 mile engine out of a wrecked truck going for 2250.

 

I was actually impressed by the chick in the Nissan. Her and her husband have a YouTube channel litebrite or something like that about there jeep life. I think they turboed that as well.

Personally thought watching the show was somewhat boring. The commentary is annoying. It would be a fun course to drive though. The Japanese guy cracked me up when he jumped his car.

 

The young girl with the blue 350z? When I heard it I was like "that poor car is all motor and gonna get left in the dust" but I think she hit mid 90's on the last straight away and I couldnt believe it. Yeah the Japanese guy seems super funny. During his interview I looked at my wife and said "he sounds like sitama from one punch man" and she said "he sounds like literally everyone from the crap you watch" she is so uncultured

 

Yep that one. I was surprised she was going that fast too.

 

I was also surprised when they said the Japanese guy had a 2jz in that car, when I say it in the promo I thought it was a key car and it still looks half the size of all the other cars.

Got a new job opportunity I couldn't pass up, so I bought a travel trailer, put my shit in it, and drove to CA lol

I am closer to where the truck is stored and I am now back within the desert fun zone so my truck will be getting put together for the season!

Finally took all my intake/ IC off and got most of the oil out and cleaned the maf again... Someone swapped me in some ball bearings... She spun with everything disconnected but I figured with the IC there would be enough to keep it from spinning at idle... But its upside down but still spinning... Hoping this fixes "everything"

Back together but only drove like 1/4 mile back to the house. Going to the river Monday so ill get to drive with a little extra load from the boat to see how she does... Maybe ill get all the kinks worked out this weekend

 

It drove pretty ok to work (20 miles) cold start up was rich enough to choke it out but then it ran pretty good. Light acceleration FT amd afrs looked good, cruising trims are lean (ltft 16 or so) ill adjust accordingly and hope for the best

 

Could be worse... Also my ltft 1 and 2 ate 8% apart 2 is ~8% richer... Any thoughts? Could these pending codes cause somethin like that

 

Sensor 2 is the post cat o2. The pre cat sensors (sensor 1) control fueling, so they shouldn't have too big of an effect.

 

Your pre sensor will give feedback to the ECU for fuel trim so yeah that will affect AFRs.

Or are those both down stream sensors?

 

Sensor 2 is the downstream sensor. They're just for cat function monitoring.

 

Yeah I was just wondering if there was an issue that could cause the downstream sensors to throw codes that may also effect fuel trim like... If you run out of oil, you have no oil pressure AND your motor locks up...

 

Got any more exhaust leaks, or all cleared up? Don't remember if you have an AFR gauge?

 

Just using torque for afrs still... All exhaust leaks are post upstream 02 sensors
