    Most high end pistons require 4130 rods you’ll save more by buying the off the shelf rods/piston than trying to match a nice piston to stock rod

    Dirt King Mid travel with King 2.5 coilovers, Baja Kits chase SUA with 14in fox smoothies under custom hangars.
    Forged doesnt mean the alloy is indestructible. You can get 350hp no problem, but once you start going above that you'll run into issues.

    If you are putting in ARP studs, and going forged pistons, along with some porting, then I assume you are going to try to lift the heads. The rods would be your weak point after everything else you did, so get a set so you dont ruin your other parts.

    The truck is the 4 speed automatic with 240k on it, so I have a lot of weak links to be sure. My goal for the build is around 280-300 hp, so not trying to go crazy. The thought on the porting is "I've got a spare head and the time to do it so... why not?"

    I really appreciate the .2, and being on a budget every two cents helps.

    My friend has the URD kit on his with a MAP-ECU3. Uses the 5th injector to supplement fuel.

    Make sure the fuel map is scaled to the proper RPM range, or your fueling will be way off.

    Also, he never upgraded the stock injectors. So we upgraded the 5 to a larger one. High RPM with 9 psi boost was getting way too lean.

    I've heard the stock fuel pumps in this second gen could stand to be upgraded a bit, and was considering doing that when I put in the "new" engine with goodies.

    Did you do your own tuning, or have a shop Dyno it in for you?

    Turbo specs, psi, injectors/size, and Dyno numbers? If you have mentioned that already, I do apologize.

    Damn the bad luck. Im having a difficult time tracking skmeone down whos running mapecu 3 on 2tr. There was one guy but he was a dbag and didnt want to answer questions. Thanks anyways

    Most of us seem to be Haltech guys but i must say AEM also makes a damn fine product

    I got one on my 2rz. He probably didn't know what he is doing. I've seen a few of those people. I taught myself the whole thing. It isn't that bad. You are going to be limited quickly on stock injectors. You can look at my map if you are wired up just like mine.
