    Been a while since I’ve had time to tune. It’s feeling good. Can’t wait to add some wastegate down low to widen up my powerband. The old turbo hit 10 psi around 2700rpms fully tuned up, but it still felt slow.

    A big fat caged truck is starting to feel light again. Very happy with the new turbo and it runs very cool.

    Here is the ebay turbo before I retired it, no wastegate commanded, 550cc injectors. The larger negative number shows that I'm holding back more fuel. Looks like I had a bit of wastegate creep and just a few hundred rpm earlier spool. Both wot pulls and near same temps. I think I have a slightly stronger wastegate spring in my current setup.

    A whole tenth more of fuel in the higher end. Definitely flows more. Same wastegate or a new different brand? Which brand at that?

    The old setup was internal gated. This one has a tial 40mm external that merges back into the exhaust. Even pegged the maf at 5.0v. Motor still running well because I’m pulling a .5v, but it not going to take long to run out of injector. Going to need to join you stand alone guys soon. Time to start saving my pennies.

    :bananadance: Can't wait. I see lots of soldering in my future with all those wires. Realistically going to take a year before I pull the trigger. For now pissed off piggyback.

    I got 20th century, manual, free, over 100k miles, and no air bags = ftw

    I initially left the pump on the side, and kept the MAP sensor on top of the valve cover which you can see between the 2 pics. Truck ran normal, minus a CEL every few startups, but no limp mode. Since, I've installed the Hewitt Tech bypass and left everything where it was, but it doesn't even turn the pump on and suppresses the CEL, allowing the emissions monitor to complete. I haven't messed with unplugging anything to clean up the bay, but I'll gladly take the CEL suppression.

    Thanks i read in your build thread you just plugged the sais in and then put it to the side, but nothing on the map sensor. Thank you for the clarification. Are you running a oil feed restrictor on that turbo? Did you install check valves in your vacuum system?

    All ball-bearing turbos need a restrictor, so yes. Running the one supplied with my turbo.

    No check valve installed.
