    Wow! You've been busy!

Speaking of FMIC's, I recently purchased a Garrett intercooler core. Time draws near to upgrade mine as well. Only thing is that I have to weld on the end tanks.

The reverse rotation units will fit much more nicely, for a singe setup.

I wish I was going to run a Garrett core, very efficient units. I'm just modding a Amazon Ic for now.

Chopped of the first couple rows to make room for charge pipe to cross over top. I wanted to keep as much of them outside the ebay, for clutter and heat reasons.

Need to cut and flip 1 end tank then remake inlet, then pipe it all and remount trans and Ps coolers. Annnd tube the front end, its falling apart.

    Dang! That was super tall!

Your tube bumper is falling apart?

Sometimes I think how handy a tube bumper could be on my truck, as well.

Not the tube bumper, the front core support. Lots of bumps and jumps shake it to death. Hit one hard enough to put the fan into the shroud. The blade that broke hit the radiator, thankfully didn't put a hole into it out in the middle of nowhere.

    Holy smokes! Dayum!

Coincidentally, I just picked up some material to fix two cracks in my core support. Once I get in there, I check for more.

Which makes me wonder if your year model has thicker or better material than the 2005+? Y'all's seem to last longer before the cracks move about.

1st gen is thin af. Still having the battery up front doesn't help, but I've got cracks on both sides, all over the place. I just keep welding them, but its time for something better.

My core support has cracked in more than a few places as well. Even have a crack on the passenger fender support starting.

Turbo seems to be doing well for the time being. Killed another egt probe though. They apparently don't like rough roads.

I remember a while ago that you were looking at having it tuned by someone. That still part of your plan, or has it been done already?

Post turbo in the bend for the downpipe. Not much over 1400 with 3psi.

That's an excellent use of a VW SMIC by just moving the outlet. Are you still using the stock w59?

Thanks! Keeps the piping short, turbo blows right into it.

    I'm using the A340f transmission.

I have a basic question for you guys (non-Tacoma).
I’m about to install an intercooler on my Stinger that replaces the cold and hot side and increases the diameter of the charge pipe from 2.5” to 3”.

I have a TMAP sensor on the charge pipe before the throttle body and a MAP sensor after the throttle body.

Understanding a bit about the MAF on our trucks, where it’s necessary to recalibrate if we increase tubing diameter. Am I going to have a similar issue with the car? Will I get into a lean condition that retards timing?
Edit: or is the function of the MAP more forgiving somehow?

I assume that a sensor is designed to work in and with a given volume and if you change the pipe size the sensor is in, it will read incorrectly. If the pipe change is before or after the sensor and that part is left alone you probably wouldnt have a big issue but I feel that would defeat the purpose of putting larger pipes I ... Just realized that was a huge run on sentence but im not going back to fix it

Edit: it wasnt as bad as I thought; I did manage a period in there and a conjunction but no comma so half a gold star...

I approve of your sentence. Thanks.

That’s what I was thinking, but didn’t know if I was missing some MAP secret knowledge. The area of the 2.5” pipe is 4.9sq-in and 7.07sq-in for 3” (if I still know how to do math). So a decent difference. I’m not sure how the two separate MAPs interact with each other though. Usually the MAP is post throttle body as I understand it.
I was searching around on the N54 Forum unsuccessfully for some insight.

This little guy. TMAP. This is a photo of the upgraded plumbing.

MAP sensors won't care because they are not reading a metered flow through a specified diameter tube. Only the pressure/vacuum that is senses.

Cool. So those tables aren’t based of some assumed volume?
