Finally found a thread somewhere on the internet to give us an idea of how small the oem holes were compared to the reengineered ones, looks like we may pull the pistons, mill some new holes, slap on new rings and throw it back together and see what happens

How many have built a log style manifold with stainless butt weld fittings? I’m gonna fit one and have the local welding shop put the welds on it. I have an old stainless manifold that had thin tubes that cracked but a solid flange. I’ll cut the tubes off and dress the flange. Then fit the 90*s like I want them. I’ll need to source about 8” of 1.5” pipe to make the middle section but it should be pretty straightforward.

    Super easy.

I have stainless pipe ready for my next header for another turbo kit. For a 1GR. The flange is a 1/2" , 321 stainless.

My engine just started cutting out when it’s less than 50 degrees out. AFRs run rich 9s and then ECU cuts fuel and causes Engine stutter. AFRs bounce all over the place. I have a FIC/6 that was tunedreally well until temperatures dropped below 50 degrees

Trunk is warmed up when this happens
It only happens during temperature drops...all else being equal. Runs like a champ 65-100 degrees

    anyone have this problem?

You probably need to touch up the winter tune. I dont think that its your ecu cutting fuel that makes it stutter, its that you are so fuel rich it can't burn, causing the stutter (I've done this).

How does it drive (afr) and part throttle/cruise? Problem only in boost?

    Thanks!

Part throttle is fine right in the 12s, it only happens in WOT in high boost at high RPMs

Save this map for Spring/Summer, then you can copy it and make an adjusted new map for Winter. Sounds like you can leave the O2 and Timing maps alone, just focus on the Fuel map. Make sure the scale on the side has a little room for over boost. So if your base atmosphere pressure is 14psi and you are running 11.5psi boost (call it 12), that adds up to 26psia. So your scale on the side should go up to 27 or 28psia. This way you are not "clipping" or touching the edge if the map. You will have to do this to all the maps so they can work together. It may help to take pics if the current maps before making any changes. You can then realign the cell values with the Y axis numbers, since they won't auto populate with Y axis changes. @Rldanie

If you are not clipping the edge of the map, then it will be pretty easy to adjust the fuel map. Just highlight the top 3 rows from 3k to 6k and right click, subtract fuel once or twice, then give er a rip. Monitor and slowly adjust until you are happy. Still save the current file and adjust on a new winter file.

Look at the Cherry Bomb M80 and/Jones version of it. Single chamber tubular style that looks like a cat almost.

These aren't the traditional glass pack. They're chambered but tubular.

Took me a minute to get my buddy's welder dialed in, and I never got it perfect... All welders need the cheat sheet printed on them that tells you what to set for each thickness of metal and wire diameter lol... It didn't feel like it was feeding right consistently but I'm not a welder... I have just owned one haha. It is significantly quieter especially at idle, but still gets pretty loud on up north of 2k... If my wife didnt leave me with an empty tank I probably would have got some boosty noises for y'all tonight.

I ran a glass pack close to my header and a fiberglass magnaflow style at the back for maybe 1.5 years up until this spring. It just kept getting louder and louder the more I drove it. What lead to me redoing it all is when I went through an underpass on the interstate doing 80 and it sounded like an F1 car in the tunnel at Monaco.

My Brothers turbo Silverado got stolen the other week. Covid got people acting stupid. Guy who stole it lost control and hit the barrier and ran away. Never caught the guy. So good thing is that it didn’t get stripped of its parts.
