I talked to my insurance lady last month or so and she told me if I ever had a wreck I could always have it towed to my house before the adjuster came to look at it... Wrenchin overtime lol got lots of stuff to pull off if it ever happens... Also added like $5k "exhaust" modification to the policy

 

Wild, at least pull those parts before insurance takes the whole truck.

 

They took it all. Brother found out it got stolen because the cops called him. He can’t see it from his apartment. Insurance already had it in possession.

 

Cam shafts are out up top and the bottom end is pretty open. Just got to a good stopping point. Hopefully get it knocked out this weekend

 

Putting some work in. What's next?

 

I guess we are gonna unbolt the timing chain cover from the head and the take the head off and start pulling pistons and drilling holes... Trying to leave as much stuff alone as we can but things keep getting in the way lol

 

This is one of those scenarios where I hear people say, "You can't do it that way." "Watch me."

 

I was working up top and my buddy was underneath pulling stuff off and he said "you know this is some red neck shit we are about to do; I mean I still think its right, but its red neck" I told him he had a drill press and that was good enough for me lol

When I was doing a head gasket replacement on my friend's tC, the instructions were clear about removing the timing cover. Noooope. Wasn't having that. Wasn't removing the engine, nor was I dealing with timing cover removal and re-siliconing. Determination triumphed.

 

So you just unbolter the cover from the head and left the timing cover bolted to the block and had little to no issue? Also heads up the end of can shafts may or may not have sharp edges and could slice a bird finger near to the bone if one was to have grip slip due to oil... I know a guy

 

That's correct. Took 4 hands and some finesse.

 

That engine was the 2AZ-FE. Not sure if the same as yours?

Broke a lil traction at ~45mph btw lol it doesnt make any sense but I think it runs a little better with that added back pressure... It has leaned the fuels trims a little, could it be helping to close the exhaust valves better/faster? Or is that all in my head

Better performing in normal driving like low load vacuum stuff... What I am really saying is I need to drive it more

 

How accurate is your speedometer?

 

Maybe the airleaks are sealed up better
