    Auto figure it was oil. Been noticing a little extra smoke lately... 8-9 psi just lossened it up lol

    Ever do the valve body upgrade? How many miles on that fluid?

    Nope... Um I dropped the pan at may be 160k and refilled and then drained and filled the pan again around 190 so half the fluid is kinda new. Truck has 240k ish so... Math. It is about a at low of oil though right at time for a change

    A tricky bolt in the timing chain guide but the head is off... There was a small amount of carbon build up... On top of a great deal of carbon build up lol

    Bravo, you did it without pulling the timing cover. Very tricky bolt.

    How flat in the head?

    When my friend's over heated, only the head was warped.

    As tight as those head bolts were I don't see how anything warped independent of the other lol. Everything looked pretty good to use, cylinders still had cross hatches after nearly 1/4 million miles... There is a plastic that surrounded all the cylinders which was mind blowing that it didn't melt but I guess the coolant has been doing its job

    Those head bolts were over-torque'd from the factory. Know occurance.

    You did check the head with a straight edge, yes?

    My buddy has a mill or whatever the really big drill press thing is called when you can fine tune up down left right front and back. We put an 1/8" bit in it and letter eat. The factory oil rings were completely gunked up, the only place oil was returning was in the ring gap and the coil spring ring thing was in caked as well.

    Got a new set of rings to go in, or cleaned those up thoroughly? Going to have plenty of drain back now.

    Yeah order new rings and new head gasket. Gonna see if I can order head bolts individually because we stripped 2... And get all that burnt oil and carbon cleaned up (gonna lose a ton of compression since that's like 1/8" top and bottom lol) and start putting it all back. I can't believe we got all those pistons out with out pulling the engine but somehow my buddy got to that far driver side rod and we pecked and pecked till it popped up
