Yes lil something to brace it and hold the bypass shocks.

 

3071r may wheeze out on top end but it should come on early though. 20-25psi in the higher RPMs would be pushing the efficiency of it and be blowing a lot of hot air. There's a lot of sub 2L cars running around with these making big power with smaller displacement. Unless it's free I would suggest to look around a little more.

I was able to get the cold side tank fabbed up today. Soon they will be glued to the core.

 

Chipping away at the Fmic. Auto trans cooler is probably the biggest fitment issue. Unfortunately I had i remove the grill to get the Ic to fit. I think I'll replace it with some mesh, after it runs.

 

You sir, have some talented metal-gluing skills.

Technically it is drivable if I button the front back up. I kept all systems intact, just moved stuff out of the way to mock/fab.

Next hit should take it down. Probably one solid day to hang all the coolers and run the Ic piping.

The problem is the core support was dying already with all the offroad fun. They aren't very strong to begin with. I've already welded it more than a few times, and getting in there yesterday I found so much more damage. Now adding additional weight and a hole for piping will probably be the last straw. So now I'm trying to figure out how much tube I should do and when. I'm out of play time and need to go back to work. I'll probably have to scab it together for now.

 

I'm not knocking your work because it is absolutely beautiful and planned out well, but have you seen the same side dual core or vertical core setups? Some Bimmers have two stacked front to back, too.

 

I hear you on that core support problem. Mine isn't nearly as degraded as some of those members' in the core support thread , but those intake tubing holes, coupled with the super thick radiator and intercooler are definitely taking their toll. Got a few splits to weld back up.

 

Yes I am familiar with some of those. The middle pic probably would have worked best for me. No way the 3rd one would work. Having a winch really eats up alot of room, and I already switched to a smaller one. Not to mention I need to put the auto trans cooler in there. I might have to do two smaller ones instead of the single big one.

 

Poking around Garrett's site, and finally speaking with someone about my planned build, they were recommending the G30-770 or G30-900, which are both nice looking turbos. But holy damn are they pricey...

 

They're absolutely worth it though. All of the low end, with none of the high end restriction.

Knock sensor code keeps popping up so I got a new one that is coming today runs good just no overdrive because the sensor.

Yeah... But if you know anyone that needs a knock sensor (or 2) for a 2 azfe... I know a guy lol. A 2 pack was $19 and a single was $20. Put a new valve cover gasket on too and drove it a few miles tonight and everything looked good
