The intercoolers are available on fleaBay. Just need a pump, plumbing, and reservoir.

 

Moar boost will fix that, jk. It always does that so I figured it part of the ECU load. I can't log timing fast because I'm limited by the OBD2. I can only log 3-4 Hz if I'm lucky. I'm hoping to be on a haltech this summer so I can run a more aggressive tune.

 

Been a long two work days. Haven't had the time to get anything more accomplished, except for this as of tonight. One little step closer. OEM WRAF sensors are ready for install into the downpipe.

 

Installing the sensors today, and working on mounting the intercooler. Oh soo close. I am ready to take this thing on a test drive!

 

So many of the guys at my work keep telling me "dude just LS swap it! It's cheaper with more power!"

The only way I get them to stop is by saying "when I grenade the four banger with boost then I will." Hah! Jokes on them... this thing will never grenade! I hope...

Even if you do decide to go v8 just double down and go with a 1uz. The first gen ones with the thick rods beg for boost and a supercharger is pretty easy to slap on

 

Honestly I want to go 2uz with a 1uz rod swap.

I prefer the weight savings with the aluminum block at least in my already light truck. That being said my next daily will probably be a v8 4runner with 1uz rods and alittle boost lol

 

I got hooked on the 2uz idea since my family had an 06 tundra with that engine, and I looked heavily into a rod swap and supercharger setup.

Yea but we think we have a stuck Injector. I'm dumping fuel right now and can smell it through the vents bad. Going to see if my strategy code will log per individual injectors to find out if they are.

 

@Torspd you looking at getting a holset? Or did something happen with that company? I'd never heard of them before.

 

It’s a smaller company I had recommended for y’all. Owner actually seemed concerned since I asked him a dozen questions he couldn’t answer and he kept texting weekly until I got mine running. If I ever get it dynoed he wants a video and graph since all he deals with are diesels.
