3" is a big pipe for a 4 banger under 300 ponies. The o2 sensor should be at least 12 inches away from the t dizzo.

Shit didnt mean to step on your pepe lol

I read a post about you coming up with one, that would be great for the 4 banger community for sure. I wouldnt go into production, just do one off builds. Our plasma table is down or i would volunteer to send you some manifold plates

I’m hoping to be at around 300 at the rear wheels, and yeah i thought the same about the larger piping, but it doesn’t feel right to go from a 3” down to 2.5 and then back to 3” again.

Yeah i thinks 2.5 inch would be fine. But shit if you want go 3 inch. I went 2.5 all the way down and im never using that t28 5 bolt exhaust housing. V bands are the only way to go

I'm full 3" with a merged external wastegate. It's worth it for 300 plus. As long as there aren't leaks the o2 sensors are happy.

I’m with you there, it will be v-bands only this time around on everything, including the turbo housing

Thanks for the info, that is good to know on the o2 sensors as well.

Lol. Your first sentence made me smile and laugh, while I sipped my coffee. All good mate.

    I appreciate that offer!

Is yours a manual? If so, from what I have heard they are pretty dang stout. That they should hold more than 300 wtq pretty well.

Yeah mines a manual. Well the crawlbox is a geardriven with 4.70s, and the tcase is a fj cruiser box chain drive. On the street itll probably be ok, but when i have the 38 stuck between two rocks and i give it the berries it may not.

When im in low low theres no reason to give it any throttle. Doesnt do much, usually fucks it up. I just let the clutch out and let her eat

The turbo helps me on the freeway. Im going to see how it does with 5.38s before i started turning her up.

Thatll be nice! Might be worth upgrading to a v-band housing later on. I am looking forward to not have to deal with any more exhaust leaks. Those have given me a real headache in the past. Looking forward to seeing your build come along

You guys are making me rethink the TD05 and going with a v-band housing capable turbo...

That's my biggest struggle with the turbo setup- dealing with constant exhaust leaks/cracks in the manifold.
Part of me wants to get the china manifold and downpipe again, just to be able to have a good set so I can give my old set to someone to fab up better ones.

My downpipe really needs to be faced, cause I keep getting a leak at a spot where the mild chinesium steel has just eroded. Super annoying.

    Doooo-eeettttt!

Crazy how low quality their "steel" can be, compared to the standards we have.

I am curious about this facing that you are referring to. Is that on a flat bolted flange, or something else? Got a picture?

I'd have to offload my brandy new Holset and a couple other things first to do that! I kinda want to hold onto the Holset just in case I want to go that big big turbo route down the road again.

It's on the flat bolted flange part that mates to the turbo. I don't have any pics of the surface itself, other than the day the manifold and DP arrived :(
With that said, it's the section circled in red that's been problematic.

Okay guys, so I verified today that these two fittings on the 2TR oil housing are indeed M22x1.5. My question to @05Taco4x4 is what did you do with the coolant drain fitting on the block near the front one, just plug it up? I wasn’t able to thread the fitting in with that in the way on the front port so something will have to be done with that. 7152BF68-5362-4526-B74A-BCD49EFA52E3.jpg
