I've only used one AEM gauge but it's been solid now for like 6 or so years and the sensor has been installed on like 3 different exhausts. Doesn't discredit your experience but that is strange to me. Well actually I think @vasinvictor had a similar experience?

 

I used to be pretty addicted to data logging. I just mellowed out my tunes a bit from fuck around find out to I'll just worry about it once the weekend comes. Mostly a free time issue.

 

Dirt road hooning on the way to the rig in my AWD Audi was a bad idea. Bo and Luke Duked a speed bump and landed on a quart sized boulder. Will be attempting to install an oil pan ‘in the field’ Saturday morning using a shop hoist without wheels and a floorjack. I did happen to bring my master toolbox in a Pelican case along as well as my Bentley Bible.

I will forgo 4 hours of sleep and round trip into the nearest town to an Autozone and pick up a new pan and oil. Then Saturday I’ll stay at it until it’s down. Good thing I’m working nights.

I nearly, almost yanked the motor on days off and reworked it. Glad I waited.

Autozone botched the hub warehouse delivery. It did not arrive today but is supposed to arrive tomorrow. Window of repair time just closed 24 hours. Now it’s looking like 12. I did take the opportunity to take some apart and will hopefully be ready to slap it on come Sunday morning and bolt it all back together.

That sounds too stressful to me now trying to cram in repairs. Respect the hustle.

 

If you’ve never read travelled the Permian Basin oilfield highways it’s brutal. Some poor soul temp abandoned a convertible 350z once. When I can back by two weeks later top was gone, seats gone, hood, wheels, even steering wheel. I’ve seen some with all windows busted and set on fire. One time a small burnt truck had a chain wrapped around the A pillar and it would change locations almost daily. Drag marks down asphalt.

Ra ta taaa. Took me about 4 hours to get it swapped out after prepping some the day before and all back together. Only needed about 1.5 gallon of water and new oil/filter. Gaskets for both ends of test pipe are toast so she’s got a little rumble and whistle now. Literally finished at 1pm Sunday after working a 14 hour OT shift. Then had to come pick up a 14 tonight. Im getting too old for all this work stuff. About 80 miles on it and all is well. Noticed the alternator pulley is about to fall off when I had the front clip out. Guess I’ll do that next to ensure I make the trek home.

Gonna yank the motor completely soon for BT prep, rods, pistons, crank bearings, clutch, and do fueling for impending boost increase. Hopefully happy fun time when done.

Will do, I'm currently waiting on a Haltech ECU and some pins to wire in my ECU connector.

 

Clutch savior was one of my crew. There were two pan bolts that were only assessable by rotating the flywheel just right. A 10mm socket was too fat to get at them but they also have a 5mm allen recess. My 3/8 drive 5mm allen was also too fat to get at it. My Allen wrench set was missing a 5mm. He dug through his little tool box and had 3 allen wrenches. Two SAE and one 5mm. I owe him lotsa beers now. Stars aligned at that moment.

 

@Torspd this what your kit for the 1gr will look like? Haha. After seeing harrop doing the dual vvti blower for over $10gs. I’d rather spend the money on a turbo and make some real power.

Long awaited, but finished this up today. Borgwarner EFR 7163 with a @Torspd 321 stainless steel manifold for the 2TR-FE. Still working on the tune and ironing out some minor issues, but for the end of the first day, it’s running fantastic.
