Transmission reminds me of the Subi one. Which then makes me think of these both in their rally heritage.

If it is actually an SC14 that is what came on the Previa vans in the 90s, the design is by Ogura Clutch. They're old roots style, not very efficient, I looked at putting one on my 2.7 back in the day.

That's them. I don’t remember any minivans being supercharged but I guess they could’ve been.

Oh yeah, there was a supercharged, 5 speed manual version of the previa that had this SC. They're very hard to rip out of the vehicle haha. MR2 guys like em as an upgrade for their smaller SC11

Lofty goals. I did get the trans/center diff fluid swapped. Then stripped the motor to just a crank when I ran out of daylight. Crank main bolts have not shown up either so can’t do bearings or flywheel/clutch just yet. Thinking I may just get a machine shop to extreme deck the head and raise compression slightly as well as do the valve seals and exhaust valve replacement. Never have done valves has me not wanting to learn the hard way. Also get them to drill and tap all exhaust stud holes to 3/8-16.

This will buy me time to get more done and done correctly without rushing. Would like to delve into headunit and speaker rewiring.

Happy 4th everyone. So ive ppsted here before. Same truck different motor new problems. Turbo build with ftc1 and r4 software, BOV delete. Truck starts and runs great for about 10 seconds, begins to chug as if its misfiring. Then eventually stalls. Plums of black smoke. Lambda reads 1.001
With a 4° timing advance. Recent MAF sensor wiring harness swap and new sensor. New crank and cam sensor. It runs better when i retard the injector flow. But it still cuts out at 2800 rpm when idling. Im about to throw in the towel here.

If your lambda reading is in volts then it’s crazy rich and explains the black smoke. Is the MAF sensor sized correctly? IE: too big and it can run crazy rich during open loop. Could have an injector stuck open as well. Maybe try some new, or good and clean(ed), plugs. Let it run until it chokes itself down then pull them to see if one is extra sooty.

Here is a lambda to AFR chart. As @Brake Weight mentioned above, for us to all be on the same page, we need to know exactly what it is. Just ruling potential incongruencies out.

So did the problem gradually progress to where it is, or did something get changed and now the truck is being this way? As in, what was the last thing done before this current problem?

Motor swap with a junkyard donor. I have yet to get it running perfect. Its been stalling out on me since install. The harness has been cut and spliced more times than id like to admit. The Maf sensor had ro be rewired because the one oreilleys sold me wasnt the correct one and i was throwing the maf and intake air code. Im wondering if its still not wired right or a combo of that and a bad o2 sensor. What should my obd2 reader show me for bank1 and bank2 sensors along with the MAF values? Did i mention it wont accelerate past 2800 rpm in neutral

They are all pretty damn sooty. But the passenger side plugs are all pretty sooty.

Ive been trying to get a shop to take it and look at it. But no one will touch it because its too heavily modified. I have the money to pay whatever they could ask for labor and parts but noooooo. WTF!

Any pics of the MAF setup? I have the wiring diagrams for your truck.

Did I already say this? Someone else, or you, had a similar problem recently.

I have the OEM part number for the MAF from a 99 that I can go look at tomorrow. As far as the O2 sensor goes, I do not have the OEM part but I do have Bosch sensors off Amazon. My truck is narrowband. Also I believe the supra MAF is only an upgrade for pre 98 trucks iirc because they had the restrictive MAF. 99 and on used a fairly open MAF like what you should already have.

Here's a somewhat informative thread concerning the MAF's that 95.5-04 use
95.5 to 98 use the bullet style and 99 to 04 use the new open style.

The harness is off a 4runner, not sure of the year.
