GM TOB in my T56 swapped 1GR. Been in there around 8 years. Not exactly sure, without going through my build thread. Found a couple bearings chilling on the lip or the trans, when I pulled the bellhousing off. I suspect the fact that there were no holes in the bottom for "dust" to evacuate, contributed significantly.

 

So I did this-





Basically a 7/8" set of holes.

Then used a thread repair kit for all of the bellhousing to trans holes.

 

The casting was a bit too easy to strip for my liking, compared to the casting of the block.

 

I graduated highschool with a guy, and have been in a couple bands with him too, that exclusively rebuilds GM transmission (job security amirite?) And he leaves notes on all of his

Did a slight modification to my exhaust system. To more "balance" the sides. Basically I was lazy and reused old material instead of matching the transition sizes for both sides. Ran well enough, but that pressure differential has bothered me for a long time. Passenger side is 2" into the twin scroll fange. The driver side out of the header, was 2.25", crossed over, then reduced down to 2". Matching that of the passenger side. Now that is fixed. Just need to get it back on the truck now.



A sample of the old. That material did however save me a lot of coun, since it all had been re-used many times. Lol.



With just enough fortune, I finished with the needle on "E." Super lucky. As I need my truck together to get the tank refilled.

ive been thinking about. remove the glass and cut housing out and leaving just enough to hold the projector in its place

 

Could always do the FnF cheap cowl hood mod, or whatever it’s called.

 

looks ugly as hell imo. after 27 years in one of worst places in world for rusting vehicles this truck is loosing the battle (although frame is clean unbelievable) so just about every panel is rusting through. thats why i dont mind cutting this thing up anymore. undecided what to do with it at this point as another 2023 taco may be in my driveway in the near future

fiberglass fenders to get to me in rural canada is 3 grand. rocker panels and drivers side floor are toast. bed is absolutely gone. rad support is cracked to hell. body basically needs a full restoration. then engine needs a new harness. yea before covid hit and i got layed off i had a 2020 access cab 6mt in voodoo blue quoted to me. im in a position where i can buy a new truck again. want something more trustworthy to tow a snowmobile trailer across the province in winter. like i said im torn what to do with this truck. 35s, lockers, king suspension, turbo. its an absolute blast in the trails but has given me constant intermittent electrical issues ever since meth line blew and caught everything on fire under hood. needs full new body and paint to top it. never posted on here before but im starting my turbo corolla build. 2zr 6mt with gtx2860r. monkeywrenchracing built engine

 

i was looking into hydrophobic sheets. we make vents for snowmobiles with this stuff.
