Found this on custom tacos...also found a couple tmic setups but I don't really want to try to make a hoodscoop or have to mess with low speed problems with heat soak and keeping the engine bay cooler.

But, the intercooler sticks down under the stock bumper so my plate bumper/Winch setup may cause some problems, probably have to use a smaller one...

 

Just use a smaller one. But even if its down an touch it should cear stuff i think.

Also, what would be the best way to keep the air filter form soaking in mud or water

 

can try a sock setup. Could even potentiality i THINK make the stock air box work..i don't know the diameter of the tubing but you could make that work. What id try anyways with all the offroading i do.

If I made my own box like the 2nd gen cai's have, where could I pull air from? Could I pull enough air from the fender well or would I need another way to pull air you think?

 

you could always run up to the cowl and that would give you some height or just run it into the cab with you and get a good set of earplugs (the former is more of a legitimate option)

 

I do feel like the filter would look perfect in the back seat....

 

be loud as fuck though lol I'd hate it there.

if the stock box is good enough tof a supercharger..think it'll be fine for most turbo applications.
