Are you seeing inconsistent boost? Besides something going wrong why move it?

I heard it was better read closer to the tb. If you guys think that's an OK spot I'll leave it

If it is working for your system right now the way you like it then I wouldn't move it. There shouldn't be much pressure differential between there and the TB. It might affect spool time if you have a crazy fast spool that spikes. But I really doubt you'd notice a difference.

    5VZ guys, @Jon64l, @j0shu4, others?

What are you all using for injectors? Stock 5VZ injectors use air assist pintles to help with atomization, but that requires the IAC to specifically open for the task at low demand part throttle to direct air to the air assist channels... and frankly I don't think I need or want to bother setting up the Haltech to do this. I can get larger injectors with the air assist pintles but it is much more expensive and without using the features I'm not sure it's worth it. Only thing I don't know is what will the injectors sit on / cinch down to without the larger air assist base.

Pics for reference, air assist injectors...

[IMG] Can see it has the fat base that seals off the air assist chamber

A company called radium makes a product that might work to convert to normal injectors

Just wanted some insight on what others opted to do

As far as I know I'm using Is300 injectors that have been redrilled to 440cc. Also using a piggy back so stock computer is still doing its thing.

Those adapters look like they will work from here.

My buddy had a boosted 5vz and ran Rc injectors. Put O rings on like normal but the air assist ports were blocked off at their inlets.

Radium makes top quality components. Those, plus some good "normal" aftermarket injectors should be easy to tune with the Haltech.

That's the direction I'm leaning, I have some 850cc injectors that were in a 300zx, we went to ethanol on that car and ran out of injector headroom, so they've just been sitting. They're 11mm, so seem like good candidates to me.

Sounds like you've got the plan. Just need to test it.

I bought cheap injectors off ebay that were larger than oem but I ran out of fueling on my last tune. I used a TT supra fuel pump. Eventually I'd like to put bigger injectors in and tune for higher psi. I could find the ones I bought if you need.

But they should make 5vzfe injectors in whatever size you need.

Keep us posted on your findings. I have a feeling when my 3.4 goes ill transplant a tundra or Lexus v8 in mine.

I think that's really the best option now imo

I hope you max them out on the Vz! That would be glorious.

I uh, don't think I'll be doing that haha. I mean I'd love to but the only thing my 5VZ has going for it is low miles. Its nothing special otherwise. That 300zx VG30E wasn't anything special bottom end wise either, but theyre a lot more stout than the VZ when it comes to rods and crank girdling. My little goal for the 5VZ is 350whp with my 4.56 and 35s, I think it's doable without going ham sandwich. That would be a 390ish HP 5VZ

350hp would be like 425 ft/lbs or so (shooting from the hip). That thing will rip!

I'm 4.56 and 35s too, but with R151 5 speed. I did like 315tq and 250hp on 8psi. Stock on same dyno was about 180tq and 150hp to the wheels.

Just do what it likes and forget about the numbers. Reliability is king!

    Is the kit installed yet?

Definitely shooting for reliable, I've about finished getting everything the kit didn't have. I've got a water to air setup and the pipes are at my buddy's shop to be tig welded and bead rolled. Yanking my engine out next week, would've had it out already but I lent the cherry picker to a friend. Super excited to get it together. Probably gonna be a month or two before I can get on the dyno, my hookup with the rollers goes to Florida for the winter so it'll just be cautious road tuning until then.

Bosch O2 sensor for the WB1 went out again, almost a year to the date. Auto Zone was kind enough to do a warranty replacement for free :D

I get what you're saying, but it's plug-n-play and no need for a second O2 sensor. It's a lot of info in one location, can roll over to a second screen of info; I thought may need a second one but one was enough.
