    Isn't the cracking concern usually more for stainless (particularly lower grades) that have been wrapped with fiberglass wrap?

    Yes sir, still holding up nicely after about 6 months and 8,500 miles. Whenever i get around to rebuilding the downpipe and it actually fits, i will be having that coated at Polydyn as well

    I probably would do T4 twin just to avoid the adapter/spacer. Makes turbo sit higher and one more thing to leak.
    I personally chose to ceramic coat all my hot parts, (mani, turbine, downpipe). My charge pipe runs right over them so anything to keep the heat down. I also made a stand off heat shield on the downpipe.
    Blanket is good too, but it was just easier to coat all at once for me.

    I have only seen mild steel headers that are wrapped, have a problem. Never 304 or greater. Make sure not to get some off label "304" though.

    Yeah. No telling what CXR uses. I wouldn’t wrap anyway. Only ceramic coat. But damn I would hate to buy a set, send them off, then find out the fitment is shit. Ive been through that twice with both JBA and DT. Not fun.

    The CX kit is known to have crossover pipe fitment issues... but they have a flex section in the crossover now so maybe that has been resolved.

    I guess I’ll just have to get it in and compare it to a stock manifold best I can before I decide on sending it off.

    What’s the word on the CXR intercooler kit? Looking At the size of the thing it ought to cool a hot curry fart.

    Can't comment on it, ruled it out immediately on my truck with the steel bumper and the 95-97 flat face. No room for it. Decided to go water to air instead

    I was close to getting a Treadstone core. Except that their thickeness to hp capacity was thicker than that of the Garrett cores. So Treadstone end tanks onto a Garrett core. :D

    I've got my stock manifolds in the garage still so when I get feeling a little better I'll go put them up next to the CX manifolds for comparison.

    Damn drivers side ball flanges on the DT's I have the same issue. It's a damn shame. The man himself is buried in the cemetery not far from my house and he probably turns in his grave every time I drive past.

    Test fit your Cx kits before you decide to coat them. You probably need to have the head flanges decked at a shop. This can also change how things fit up.

    I've bought some cx flanges in the past, they are wavey and not flat even before welding. I'm not talking about a slight bow that can be fixed with a 2lb hammer and a couple pieces of wood. More like sporatic low pockets. Last ones the holes were not even in the right spot. Had to die grind out the holes to make it fit.

    I bought my 7163 from BoostLab. I would pass on the ceramic coating they offer for the hot side, mine hasn’t held up to the test of time. Other than that, I’d buy from them again. Came packed very well and no issues here. They make a nice billet drain flange for the EFR turbos as well

    The EFR really does seem like the ticket. I’m curious now about the recirc valve and how well that plays with the factory MAF. It would be really nice not to have to worry about tuning that on of everything else. Anybody have any comments on that?

    It is far from the MAF, and recirculating. It won't affect what thr MAF sees.

    If the Maf is before the turbo (draw thru), you must recirc the bov to intake pipe after the Maf, before the turbo. It is metered air and ecu will be sending fuel for this air. Rich condition happens when bov is open otherwise.

    If the Maf is after Turbo (blow thru) and the Bov is before the Maf, then it can vent to atmosphere. The Maf will not see this air and thus not add fuel for it.
    Don't put a Bov after the Maf, if Maf is after turbo.
    I recirc because my truck sees alot of dirt miles, even tho bov is before maf and maf is after turbo. Less dust entering the engine the better.
