As it so happens I just got mine hooked up. Couple of 45° fittings and it clears nice enough.

Fwiw I uses a Dei velcro heat sleeve to go around the Ac line. No problems thus far.

Oh good I'm glad to hear it works for this, I ordered some and a solid sleeve for the oil drain too.

    Looks like a smooth run.
also ran it behind the AC, ok good. I did get that mounted back up yesterday.

I'll be limited to the 10AN bung I have on hand.
    IMG_20230405_230003.jpg

The oil pan came off a few weeks ahead of schedule and needs to go back in on Monday
I do have the fittings and hose for the return and could mock it up and make sure I get a good fit.

How far down from the rim of the pan should I expect the oil line.
I might actually be able to look at the dipstick hanging out of the tube and see where the oil line should be

You could have it almost at the top of the rim with that fitting if you wanted to. You just have to drill a hole big enough in the pan to have that register on your bung stick through and then you can weld it on the inside. Then maybe do a couple of tacks on the outside for good measure and strength but you won't have to worry about getting it to seal out there

I've considered welding it myself (absolute noob) but all I've got is an old 120 flux core mig and not sure how it would do with the stainless bung. I've got .35 guage wire.

I could tack welding it on the outside and seeing how it feels, if it's reasonable do the inside

Should be OK. Get some stainless flux wire and practice on some pieces first to get the machine dialed in then go for the pan.

Purchased a junkyard VW motor for my Audi project. Finally moving forward on it. Here’s my IC mounted and I have 2.5” piping that needs welding. Motor rebuild will be first. Drop in H beam rods, new rings, a quick cross hatch honing, and possibly valves after I get the head pulled. Mileage unknown though.

Factory IC on the ground there.

After it's welded, test it with water above highest point for awhile. You don't want to deal with a leak later on.

I'm lower than want but it will work for now until I do a bumper. Drilled some holes in the bumper for air flow too. Will bolt up tomorrow after paint dries

Fucked Lol I should have put the cap on to protect the threads. It took a minute but I got them clean and it seems to be sealed well
