    CX used flat flanges on everything and i figured a flat flange would mate up better to the turbo down pipe since it's flat. I was just going to use the female side but thought if they machined the male end flat it would give it a bigger surface area for the seal

    I understand M/F is a superior flange but I'm not a welder and don't really want to cut all the fittings of and redo them.

    I found a shop who will Cerakote the manifolds, will take them in tomorrow for all the details but I'm glad to have found a local shop.
    Now I just need to pick a color

    Male/female seals better. All flanges leak if they are warped. The techniques prevent that.

    Agreed^^^ Definitely test fit first.

    It all felt good to me:notsure:.

    The flat Vband flanges can be a pain to keep squared I see how the M/F flanges would come in handy.

    The oil drain being at the 6 o'clock position Will be a tight squeeze

    it might be better fitted on the other side of the T4 flange at say the 5 o'clock position.


    I'd like to order two high quality 2.75" Vband clamps for the crossover pipe. For now I just have better nuts on the clamps that came with the CX kit.

    Turns out the 3" male flange I had converted into a flat flange isn't a good fit. the outer diameter of the flange was greater than that of the turbo's flange so I'll take the Evil Energy one I have on hand (that matches the diameter of the turbo flange correctly) to the machine shop to have it de flange gendered.

    The father and son that own the machine shop both drive Tacomas so that's a bonus.
