    Just keep stacking parts/material and building it in your head. Do it in logical segments. When I did mine I didn't do the IC kit to start, just used couplers and pipe to get it to throttle body and drove on low boost. Then as I got more time did Ic (actually 2 versions). Anyway just keep going, slow progress is better than no progress.

    Well, happy/sad day, truck is making good power and hitting boost as planned but I smell clutch after pulls so it seems I'm exeding the torque load my new Exedy racing clutch can handle. :(

    I am going to call clutch specialties in Georgia about having one made for me. We did that with my buddy's 300zx and the dude made an awesome clutch for it (same disc size as a tacoma) that held 700 ft lb for multiple dyno pulls and events even though he only guaranteed it for 500 ft lb.

    my concern in going to a heavier clutch would be having too heavy of a pressure plate to where it'd be tiring after a while offroad or any scenario where you have to use the clutch a bit

    I'm not overly concerned about that. There's a lot they can do to mitigate that by moving the fulcrum in the pressure plate. The 700 lb clutch in a 300ZX felt just barely heavier than stock.

    That's quality there.

    A personal experience of my own, I installed a SPEC Clutch 3+ on my 2nd Gen. Before the change to the Twin Disk. It was rated for 500 brake torque, and held 550 WTQ. During the swapping, there wasn't even the hint of a hot spotting.

    Some clutches can be made very well.

    I checked the gap on my IK22's and directly out of the box they are all at .030 on my feeler guage. Ive heard the target gap is between .034 and .028
    Figuring with how low I'm starting out on the boost it shouldn't need to be gapped super tight.

    I'm working on getting a small head start tonight and figuring out the Innovate BSP guage wiring

    I would definitely not run a boost controller of any sort to start. Just low WG spring pressure. Doesn't hurt to look at and plan, but you just need the wide band and boost guage functions for now.

    I would also start with the oil drain fitting once it's in the garage. After this is done and capped, truck is back to a drivable state.

    You have been full of great advice and I appreciate it. I was planning on skipping the boost controller for now and I have the smallest wg spring installed in the TiAl wg already.

    A local handyman said he was going to build me a billet aluminum oil drain fitting so I really hope that works out but I've got a plan to weld one up if that doesn't pan out like I want.

    Really just setting a date and getting started on the guage has got me feeling excited about it all over again.

    It's great knowing I've got the support of you guys in here too. Such a wealth of knowledge

    Just got back from a 1,450mi trip through the Montana back country and mtns with the truck. It really did awesome even with the crazy elevation in some spots over 11,000ft. I need to add some minor barometric correction for boost control but still reliable and fast the whole time.

    You still have it dialed up to 10 or did you back off given the clutch/torque limits you were experiencing?

    Turns out I had a dragging brake, clutch is still holding and I have it at 9psi for now but it is allowed to spike to 11 during quick spool.

    I let my buddy ben drive it this weekend, here it is with a full load of camping gear at about 6000ft. Not as fast as sea level or empty but still solid for a heavy pig on 35s
