She's a bit leaky, a 90 should fix it I'd think

 

I went with a 45° but the line is barely hitting one of the hood supports so ill be swapping it out again for the 90° but it was at least worth a try

 

What size is that feed? Looks chonky

This is new and I may be ordering myself one. But can I interest you in an oil pressure regulator. Mine is a v1 and this is v2 pretty damned cool. Mine requires a third hose for pressure relief whereas this one does not. There’s no guessing in restrictor orifice sizing when it only gets 40-50psi of feed regardless of oil temp or viscosity.

How's the A/W setup working? Notice any heat soak?

 

Even comes with a port for a pressure guage. Looks like a good unit. Thanks for the heads up.

 

It's been excellent honestly for how small it's footprint is. Even long pulls on a hot day don't exceed 130°. Most of the time it's about 15° above ambient, but it takes a long time for that temp to begin to even budge during a pull so unless you're in it for a long time it takes forever to get it to build heat. Heat soak hasn't been an issue though, just start driving and it comes right down to that 15° above ambient.

 

I've been thinking about trying one of these... but 5VZ doesn't make a ton of oil pressure anyway, most Toyota engines don't really once they're warmed up so not sure it would do much. Still might be nice though before winter comes and the oil turns to maple syrup.

 

You are journal bearing too @Speedytech7, even less need unless you actually had crazy high oil pressure. The oil flow is the only thing cooling that turbo.

 

Call me crazy and lazy. My BW EFR, although it has its own restrictor, gets some high ol pressure on cold starts. Engine sees around 70 psi, and 90 psi while getting up in medium RPMs. Until it warms up that is.

 

Got a lot of transient tuning done, the newest Haltech update basically fixes the whole transient behavior. Also because they fixed the delay for all SPI inputs and the built in Map sensor it also fixes boost control targeting because it isn't observing too late now.

Looks like I need to do an update then! Good stuff. I was having a challenge maintaining boost target.

 

Should probably leave good enough alone (1.03), buuuut I think the .82 wants to play. I dont really rev the engine out anyway, so might try a little more mid range power band. Just had this coated.

Too bad now the front diff is making a noise and that takes priority.

 

That's going to wake things up quite quickly.

I was able to decode the noise from the front diff today.



Actually surprised it worked as well as it did. Not sure how long this has been going on, been in for 3 ish years. Not sure what caused it either. No direct hits to diff, also have the 3/16" skid plate. Factory 4.56 gears. Just glad it didn't leave me stranded where I might need 4x4 the most.

Put in a new to me drop out from another vehicle. Teeth and oil looked great.

Next post should be smaller housing swap.
