Seems to go pretty good. Even the 5.7 it had before (Cam, heads exhaust) I would easily outrun just about anything I encountered on the road, now with an extra few hundred extra hrsps it should be a good time for all involved.

How is your setup doing?

 

Is it possible that there is something going on with your grounds somewhere. Not sure why it would have anything to do with the battery disconnection but widebands are extremely sensitive when it comes to having a solid ground connection.

Cant hurt to meter the ohms between the negative from the battery terminal to the ground wire of the signal converter box.

 

Stock pump should do fine. Thought of tapping to 7/16”?

 

you seem to have a lot of issues related to heat which is interesting.
do you have a turbo blanket? ceramic coated exhaust would help too.
Cheap turbo with a poor quality casting?

 

Can you not just through bolt it, or is there no space for that, in that specific hole?

 

Just a few weeks ago, I reinstalled the Kelford intake camshafts, but this time with the OEM phasers. Before, they were locked out. Wholly smokes it is a new engine! Needs some refining in the tune though, which at this point is probably best in the hands of a professional.

 

No, it's a Treadstone cast manifold so it doesn't really have a flange.

 

Cheap turbo. Cheap manifold. Think the thread problem was from using stainless hardware in the cast manifold. They were already compromised when I put the studs in. Chased the holes and hoped for the best.

I've been back and forth with a blanket or not. Since I keep running into loose hardware I've left it off until I can get that figured out. Not fun wrenching on everything with it covered in bits of fiberglass. Better blanket isn't in the cards right now.

 

Im looking at possibly a bigger turbo on my car and holding off on a blanket til I can sort it. As for loose hardware look at getting some NordLoc nuts. Worth their weight in gold honestly. I had one back off the last two setups and I was able to tighten it properly after I ordered a sacrificial wrench to bend to fit in there.

 

Nordlocks are awesome, we use them on ski lifts all the time. I just ordered some pinch nuts. Was just using whatever was available at the hardware store and they didn't have that size available.

 

Well, I think I found my problem... Pretty sure I hit the gas tank running up hamburger hill in Moab and dented it. It must have been just barely hanging on.

Hmm wonder if they have kc turbos or something of a 6.0 upgrade available. The Tacoma's turbo could use a friend.
