My 5800 limiter is annoying. Constantly slam into it.

 

Just raise it, problem solved haha. Actually I was going to ask about that for the 2RZ we are building right now. What's the limiting factor? I was going to set it to a 6000rpm limiter in the Haltech.

 

That haltech install is on the list one of these days. I was going to set mine at 6k too. After that I keep hearing valve float is the next issue. If you have upgraded springs, you can take it up to 7k and high boost. Assuming you have the rods and pistons to keep up. Going to the moon is dry sump.

 

I'm at 6k now no problems. But was told not to go higher unless upgrading the valve train.

I'd love to have a 7k limiter one day. I wonder what the SC would boost that high. Might be going past what the bearings can take at that point though.

Yep. Just acquired some of the goods today. Probably get a spare rear drive shaft so I can just swap it all in at once. Will build the wiring harness in a similar fashion.

 

I don't really know much about the all-wheel drive systems on these trucks. Do you still have the four-wheel drive advantages and 4lo & such?

 

Yes, all that. Check out Multi-mode transfer case. 2wd, Awd, 4hi, 4lo. Got this out of a Limited 4runner.

Are you planning on doing anything different for the PCV system? What's your target boost?

 

Yeah it's going to an open catch can on this one. Target boost at first will be 8psi. We are hoping to eventually push it to 15psi. But neither of us have fully tuned an RZ engine before so gotta work our way in.

Air to water intercooler or air to air?

 

This is most likely getting an air to air, we are still trying to figure out how to package it since it is going in a 91 Toyota pickup with a solid axle swap. If it ends up tighter when we thought it may get a water to air.

 

I am excited to see the build progress!

 

Call me ignorant, but as soon as I pull my TB to valve cover line out it runs like poo. N/A at this time.

 

Do you not cap the ends? So many questions.
