Hey was your Tacoma a 2rz or 3 before the ls? If it was a 3rz what kind of out of boost response did it have? My goal is to have stock 4.10 gears on 33" tires so I'll have good highway cruising speeds but I'm worried I'll lose too much from the bottom end since I do a fair bit of trail oriented wheeling. I'm wondering if the 3rz does a little better off low engine speeds due to the longer stroke.

I'm interested to hear about this as well. I'm on 4.88 w 33's and with the turbo it's a bit much sometimes

Prolly gonna be running half and half e15 and e85(min e70 according to pump i assume for winter blend) its freaking cheap and with roughly 50% gasoline i should still get plenty of lubrication right? I did get 10 cent off a gal today but still. Looks like e15 has about an 88 octane rating so half and half should still put me in the mid to upper 90's and i would get slightly better mpg than str8 e85 and higher octane than premium
20170323_160936.jpg still have some work to do tho...

Im a 5 lug street truck, not too sure, I ran 3.90 gears on a 27" tires, also a 2RZ. I was making 28 psi so cant really compare. The 3RZ will make more torque due to stroke, but doesnt love too many RPMs so keep that in mind..

    doubt it.

That's an area were turbos aren't gonna help. No replacement for displacement.

    I'm not complaining having 91 under $3.00.

Truck gets out a lot more around town. When I threw my turbo in gas was around $4.30

Ouch. 93 octane is 2.50 here. Filled the truck with 19 gallons of regular for 1.94/gal. Drove all the way home with the light on. Go across the river and prices are 20+ cents higher.

Get the GM fuel sensor. Be pumping e85 without an issue.

I know how that is. I was out in NM until I moved out here last year. NM is 91 octane premium. I didn't have my car then, so it didn't effect me. Always seemed weird to me because TX is 93 octane. People told me it was because of the higher altitude in NM.

Even the regular was different though. NM was like 85 oct. I think it's 87 or 89 here.

WIth the GM sensor, you can wire it into your mapecu3 and have separate maps for normal 10% ethanol gas and e85 and it will auto switch maps and adjust based on ethanol content. Also fuel temp if you wire up the fuel temp part of the sensor.
