Congratulations on a couple of great birds. So do you think you will continue to turkey hunt? What part of the country are you in cause it appears you have both easterns and Rio where you are hunting.

Thank you. I’m hunting in middle Wisconsin. I never really paid much attention to turkeys while out whitetail hunting. Decided to give it a try last spring and after having a Tom come in all puffed up to my decoys, I’m hooked!!!

It gets In your soul. I have been hunting turkeys for 30 years, my heart still pounds thru my chest when a bird is coming in. I can not think of any other activity i would rather be doing.

Congrats fellas. Been an off season here, been a day late and a dollar short most of the time but have managed some birds. Logged 32 miles on a 2.5 day draw hunt hearing just a few birds and only a couple close calls but no kills. Pulled a 15 mile trip in the mountains here last week that yielded one single Tom track for all the effort. Killed 5 hogs with 4 shots one day at two spots. They are overrunning national forest land here in the piedmont area. Missed two toms but got my second bird Monday eve. Thought it was my aging eyesight at first but proved to be the receiver mount base screws loose on my red dot, a first for me with that gun and a lesson learned. Those misses hurt pretty bad. Was able to get a nice Tom in for my 86 year old dad. That bird wanted to die and thank the Good Lord for him. Hunting with friends from here on out and unhampered with a gun now.

Those tough birds and seasons really make us appreciate the easy ones. Congrats on some nice looking birds. I'm loading the camp trailer up today heading out in the morning to hunt the central part of the state in area i have not hunted in since the early 2000s

Helene has made a mess of our woods in the upstate and 90% of downed trees are mature oaks. Mast crop going forward probably cut by 50% I’d say. Plenty of cover now though. Has made for some interesting hunts for sure, it’s all new ground basically.
