When you have two sets of wheels and tires, it's annoying to look at it for half the year.

I have snows on a separate set of alloys without sensors and A/Ts on the alloys that came with the truck with sensors. Don't want to watch the light all winter.

Too much to list, but enough to get me in trouble. Repeatedly.
There are a myriad of reasons why someone would want to get rid of the TPMS light. Aftermarket wheels, drained sensor battery (my wife's Rav4), defective sensor, regular wheeling with pressures below 18psi (me), sensors missing when the used truck was bought, really anything.
The TPMS was mandated because too many people were having accidents because they didn't regularly check their tires -- for the many of us that do, the TPMS is annoying when pressures are fine but the light insists on staying on anyway.
Many people appreciate having the TPMS. Great. It's a system for them. They can keep it, and enjoy the light coming on. Those people should not be coming on a thread with a Disable! title and bash the people who want the light off. That's generally considered trolling.

Not knocking your mod at all. There are several ways to disable. I'm not ripping into my headliner to do it however. For those that feel the need this is a good idea. I would check your local laws first however. I'm not sure exactly but I believe some states require your TPMS to be functional if it is so equipped. Now, I will carry on with my blinking light.

Spoke with The Traveler last night, who pulled his. He gave me some good insight about doing it with the headliner still on. Sounds SUPER easy!

Remove both rear coat hooks. Reach in through rear window from outside. Disconnect.

He actually got a wrench in there and removed the whole box. Said it was easy with the headliner in place and the coat hooks removed.

Also, worth mentioning that the person who posted that solution pulled a lot of the dash apart to do it. That was unnecessary on my 2011. I just pulled the HVAC controls and reached behind. 5 minute job.

How hard is it to register another set of sensors? Can you even do with a Toyota? I got a set of winter wheels and snow tires for my MINI and the wife's Kia, both have TPMS and the cars quickly senses them when they get installed. Granted you do have to register the sensors (coding once), but...

Not bashing.. But even if you do lower the pressure it'd be a nice reminder to air them up again when you want to drive home.

Am I the only one who likes the TPMS? Once in a while my TPMS light goes on because the spare gets low on air so I have to re-inflate it. It beats having a flat spare when you really need it.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.

I'll be honest...that's exactly what I thought would happen.

Same here. Did not work on my 07. I also pulled my hvac a few months ago to do the whole wire tap shit mod on the black box but could not reach it. Even pulled my double din out and could only see about a quarter of the black box. So I reckon I'll watch my light blink for a minute and go solid till I die.

I don't mind a tpms but mine has a broken one or dead battery and I don't want to spend over a hundred dollars for new ones.

Good to know where it is (hopefully in access cab) in case the sensors go bad.

My only question is, why are people removing the box? Why not just disconnect it? Seems like removing it is extra steps with no purpose. A future owner may want to reconnect and will find it missing.
