Found the tpms box on my 2006 dcsb in the same location behind the rear passenger coat hook and it did NOT disable the light on my dash when I removed the clip :/

For about $20 each you can replace the sensors when getting new tires mounted and keep the TPMS light off for about 10 more years. Works out to about the same cost as a McDonalds value meal once a year. Why is this an issue?

And the sensors aren't designed to monitor air pressure for you, that is still done with an air gauge just like it has always been done. TPMS is to warn you of a sudden tire deflation while driving. My 2007 Tacoma is the 1st vehicle I owned with TPMS and I like it. Twice since buying the truck I ran over debris in the road that punctured tires. The light came on both times and gave me 10-15 seconds to get off the road and stopped before the tire came apart at 70 mph. That is what they are designed for.

I suppose a square of electrical tape over the light would work well too.

But isn't this, in essence, what disabling the light is doing?

This is the solution to the problem I've faced. Thank you.

Not in my eyes. You will always know there is just a piece of tape there. At night is the light going to leak around the outside after 2 years and the tape starts to dry out?

Tape, where I live does not last long, 30C+ in the summer, -40C in the winter.

I like doing things a little more, permanently.

It's so much easer to just ignore it! My winter tires have no sensors I don't loose a bit sleep.

Well, this is more simple than finding the TPMS +voltage wire in the wiring to the cluster, and cutting it...
