How do you turn car off and keep the radio on on a push to start 17 taco? Like turning a key car off and leaving it on acc mode. Google was as most times useless.

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
With it off, just hit the start button once without stepping on the brake. That's acc mode. Hit it again without brake and it goes to "On" position without starting. One more time turns everything off.

That I knew, what i mean is of I was driving some where and got there early, I want to listen to the radio without the car on. Any way to shut car off and keep radio on beside shutting it down and pressing the button twice without the brake pedal.

On my other vehicles (so I assume it will work on the taco) - when you stop, set parking brake, with foot on brake, shift into neutral, push start button once - turns off engine but leaves radio in "acc" mode. Then shift to Park. After "x" amount of time it turns off automaticly - repeat steps in post #2 if you still want to listen more.

A better alternative versus draining your battery would be to download a radio app on your phone and just listen from there

    None so far
Turn truck off before shifting into park, then shift into park and the radio will remain on.

Before moving the shifter into park push the start button, then move shifter into park and turn the truck off. Same as above, I think it will turn off after 10 minutes.

Anyone know how to keep it from turning off after 10minutes?

If you turn the Aux on after the truck has been turned off then it will stay on for an hour.

I guess Toyota felt just turning a key to ACC was not sufficiently complex for the modern world...

Haha glad I stumbled on this thread. Going to a “pop up” drive in movie tomorrow in lieu of fireworks. Jurassic Park. Should be good. I suppose they’ll make me park in the back...

anyway I already knew about the shutoff...gonna test to see if that one hour thing works... that’s better than every ten minutes...

    Did it work?

    Going to a drive-in tonight.

    Going to try this:

    35. If the engine is running just press Push to Start button in any shift (R-N-D or S)except in P and radio won't go off. (Courtesy of abec)
    36. If you leave the transmission in neutral while parked in ACC mode and pull the hand brake, the radio seems to not have a turn off timer. A user reported over 2 hours of radio time while at a drive-in movie while using this method.

It didn’t work for me. Turned off every 10min.

Ah that sucks. strange it didn't work for you :/

I went last night and the neutral thing worked for me.

I turned the truck on, threw it into neutral, pressed the push start button and it worked through the whole film.

I also turned off the screen since it was bothering me how bright it was.

During the previews I tried just pressing the push start without the whole on/neutral trick first, and it shut off after what felt like 10-15min.
