Not the best press for TW. I don’t recall seeing post that were overly threatening to him. It did get off topic and derailed in typical TW fashion.

I skimmed over the article and need to read it in its entirety when I get home.

Would be nice to see more people with the willingness to teach instead of flaming people on social media.

I saw a ton of negative comments about TW scattered all over the post

That's just how any part of the internet is they can't expect everyone to behave like they're in a courtroom, people are pretty soft these days, and overall I think TW does help a lot of people out with their trucks and other issues

I expect better articles from Outdoor.

    They didn't interview TacomaBeast?

Mentioned TW and the internet gone wild but no mention of the discussion of "Leave No Trace" in the very TW thread?

I skipped pages of the TW thread, read about 50%, and I saw a few posts from those who claim to have met the guy and thought little of him. Info that TB already knows about Leave No Trace and did this anyway. Lots of the posts are reacting to the TB response of being called out. Hasn't TB claimed they did it with a dirt clod and not actually scratched the rock? (Looks scratched to me).

Yeah, people often behave poorly on the internet, no newsflash there, but if the author is going to call out TW he should acknowledge the very actions he states should be taken are also being taken on TW.

On a serious note though all the badmouthing and blowing it up by reporting it to the media, and all sorts of other outlets may have caused a negative effect and have an opposite effect on keeping that area open.

It's a good thought to have moving forward from all this about this though. Sometimes the actions, no matter if they are done with the best intentions, can have the reverse consequences of our intentions.

what make you think he's a loyalist to TCMBST? Nowhere in the article does he try to defend or stand up for them. He talks about how the Vandalism is a problem but blasting stuff like this on social media and pulling out the pitch forks just brings more unneeded attention from the media especially those who advocate getting the trails closed.

The article makes it seem like TCMBST wasn't aware of one of the most important rules of off road travel....(leave no trace). He and his bros were well aware of that and chose to leave a BIG trace. That's a failure to me. No sympathy for people that are aware of rules and consequences and choose to proceed anyway.
