Just committed to a new 100xl cap for my '07 access cab. I can't wait! The question is, though: how do I maximize my look/function? I snowboard 60+ days a year and fly-fish an equal amount. I'm thinking about two sets of thule roof racks-- one on the cap, one on the truck. The cap could potentially then hold a cargo basket and a flat-top ski/board rack on the roof. I'm leaning away from the adventure sports package leer offers and just customizing the mods myself. Any ideas?

There are some cargo baskets out there that are much cheaper than thule/yakima; any reason I shouldn't save a little coin and invest in one?

I have a LEER 100XQ. I ordered it with only the Thule Tracks installed and ordered the 430 Tracker II foot pack with the TK1 fit kit separately. You can get the Thule rack much cheaper than the Adventure Sports Package offers.

I'm thinking about getting a separate Thule rack for the cab and installing a cargo basket. I have been looking at the Rola rack...fairly inexpensive and somewhat low profile.

Honestly it doesn't sound like you really need the racks on top of the cab or topper. The reason I say that, is that your gear can fit real easy inside of your truck bed. If you want to put bikes and kayaks on top, then go for the racks. Either way, LEER toppers are the best! I love mine. I bought the LEER 180[IMG]

I agree put your stuff inside not on top. There's plenty of room

It's an 89 Toyota Pickup. I got some stuff done to it.. FJ axles going under it soon.
He probably bought the topper to sleep the night out in or something^
not everybody likes camping in a tent in 25 degree weather..the truck would be somewhat better (for wind chill at least)..

    or idk..lol :D:eek:

I just got my LEER 100R a month ago, also got the Thule rails installed in the order so if a leak or something happens it'll be warranty covered. Like John3 above did I'll find another source for the rest of the gear. I like the sounds of your idea.

I haven't had a chance to put anything together yet but will update when I do.
