Your mesh is en route...

 

The bumper repair epoxy actually turned out great after talking to the guys at O'Reillys. Sandable and paintable while being flexible as well. Did some sanding today, but just don't have a picture up yet.


Where the tabs used to be on the bottom lip.


Just painted up the symbol to possibly use on the grill. Still haven't decided on what to do yet on that topic.


Any ideas for the symbol? Devil Horns were my first thought but I have had second thoughts on it.

 

Some sanding of the sides as I work the low spots.


First coats of filler primer.




Outer surround is at the paint shop and HomerTaco's mesh should arrive Monday.

Homer's grill mesh got here earlier this week

Outer surround was finished up as well ($60 at a collision/body shop here in town, still needs to be buffed out)

Got the mesh blacked out along with the triangles

Very glad I chose the M4 from you on the mesh. Awesome product and the fit is going to be spot on. It is going to turn out great with the white surround and black middle.

 

I've built that combo before. Good choice!

 

looking good, how did you cut the triangles? I notice on my grill that they look to be melted on to the grill you can actually see a straight line along it, I thought of cutting along that line and detaching it from the grill, but I'm not sure if thats how most here do it.

Picked up the hardware for the center piece of mesh and will end up doing the zip ties on the triangles. Finally starting to come together.

 

You could use zip ties on the main section too.

Looks great but why is are the words on the primer spray can backwards?

 

The words on the primer can are backwards because the picture got flipped while in the editing phase on the website. I must have hit the wrong button while turning it.

More pictures to come later tonight.

 

Actually ended up doing a little of both. Used zip ties in areas that needed some pulling and the bolts kept everything else in line.

Here are a few pics of what it will look like after I get the two pieces back together but most of the work is done. I've been at work the last few days so I haven't had a chance to work on this as much. Two takes of the first because of the flash to see the difference and the other to see through it somewhat.







Here are a few pictures of the back showing the locations of the nuts/bolts and the zipties. I will be going back to make sure the epoxy is going to do the job. Used some smaller zip ties on the triangles and they worked out great.









I will be adding some Devil Horns I just picked up from Krusey1011 when they arrive next week as well. I will get the grill on the truck during the week and the horns on. I will get it all cleaned up to get a few photos of it before the cold weather really gets here.

Thanks guys. It isn't perfect but, for my first try at anything like this as far as redoing the inner black surround, it went pretty well.
