    Yeah same here. He definitely lucked out on that one.

    Hmm, let me check my boots when I get home. Probably be a good idea to replace them, but also might go Taco manual hubs soon which use a different boot kit.

    Let me know. 35% restocking fee and don't want to get drilled that hard, rather give someone a good deal.
    Have Allpro's LT Tacoma boots (only boots, no grease or clamps) if you want those too

    That's what my plan was with my Tacoma.. had Thule's on my shell, would pay for a cab rack and shell rack with his design.

    @ERMB is legit.

    Is WMW making racks again?

    Good for you man. :cheers:

    Being a dad is the best thing ever. Props for doing it solo, it's hard enough with a partner.

    James, not sure how far into that thread you may have followed but the forward section of my rack was quite simple to put together, much more so than my rear section. I ended up using 1/4in aluminum angle iron as the side rails and the unistrut as the cross braces. It ended up being incredibly rigid and strong and went together very quickly. Then I riveted some side panels onto it to make it look more fashionable. :D

    Lucky!

    We got about $4k back this year, which is awesome. Between that and my Tacoma payout, we're comfy again, which is nice since it's been mostly my income only for almost 2 years now.

    My truck got totaled, so not sure I'll end up doing it.. now I have a 4Runner, but also have a line on a 2/3 Frontrunner rack for a great price. I'll probably end up with that route.

    With Gobi being pretty much the only player in the 3rd gen market, I'm kind of forced to make my own. I don't mind putting the time in, especially since I'll have it on weekends. I like the one that @ERMB did more than the one that I drew up and it gives me a rough supply list.
    It's much more practical for mounting my awning than the Thule racks are and more study. It'll probably look a little boxy on top of the 4Runner but I care more about the function that it'll serve.

    Oh-man, sorry to hear about the truck! I saw you had a new ride, but I figured it was part a family expansion pack. :D

    Same, I like the lump payment though since an extra few hundred a month would likely just disappear into nowhere and not be much use. Not sure how it would have looked if my fiancee worked regularly.. she only made $1800 or so last year, stays home with our daughter and works part time 10 hrs/week, and I think she's only done so for 4 months or so now.

    I've already got a long laundry list of things to do before a camping/wheeling trip the 24-26th. Might try and add this to the list. Or at least have parts by then

    I shouldn't need the rack for this trip but it would be nice to mount the awning. Regardless, I'll be taking the Thule stuff off so it doesn't get hung up on everything
