Going from BV(8K feet) to Fort Collins(5K feet) I could really tell a difference in power. A S/C would help a lot up here, plus I could also justify 35's with an SC. If I could find one in the low $1K's I would probably jump on it.

I drove to Mexico once. Sooooo much power. Haha. Especially compared to a lot of the above tree line stuff I do. I have to be in 4 low just because of power and gearing. The only downside of the manual, don't want to ride it. Kind of annoying.

I haven't taken her above tree line yet, but I could only imagine the power loss up there. In my 1st Gen I would ride the hell out of 3rd gear on hills. It had a lot of power in 3rd gear

Wow...this is a great deal! Just finding a 4.7 TRD SC is a score! They are hard to find..and this one comes with a Uni-chip piggy-back for extra fuel. Never heard of them, but I'm sure they're not cheap!

@SCRunner12 I'd be at the bank or pawn shop...loan shark...what ever it took to grab this deal!! That's just me though. I love power!!

I can usually stay in 5th on 285 most of the time. As long as traffic is going the speed limit or faster. Although those hills between BV and Salida I have to go down to 4th.

BTW if you haven't check out the Boathouse in Salida. Great food even better atmosphere, especially in the summer/fall.

What do you mean by this?? This is where a manual really shines! You have way more gear selection to choose from...where an automatic you don't!

You can choose 4low and if you don't need very much power, then start off in 3rd gear. Or if you need more you can choose 1st or 2nd. Your choices and combinations are endless. That's the whole reason people want a manual trans!

In 4 Hi at high elevation >9000ft first gear is worthless. You have to really ride the clutch, so you have to be in 4 lo. Either 1st or second. The bummer is once you get going. I think there is a 15mph recommended limit(as per sun visor), which is 3rd or 4th. I have yet to do the Grey/Blue wire mod because I am always in 4 lo on the dirt.
