Must be the fronts sagging that make the back look higher. So far my 7 wraps have handled everything you have except I still have stock bumper.

Need to. I'm running @4x4runner2002s stock alternator right now. One of the bearings in mine poo'd the bed

Mine still works but the pulley bearing whines like a bitch. Holds constant volts and everything though. Just figure I might as well upgrade while it's out since it's something I'd like to do anyways

Im not big on this upgrade. For almost all purposes the stock alternator puts out enough. I also don't like running aftermarket alternators. After my OE Denso died I replaced it with a Advance Auto lifetime warranty one. That one died out of no where, no warning signs or anything after 30k. Thankfully I was in a city so I was able to get a replacement. I went from normal volts to 9 volts over just 20 miles... Then the second aftermarket replacement I got started whining real bad after 10k miles. That was on my way to Moab so I got scared and bought a spare just incase it died in the middle of the desert. When I got back from Moab I switched it out for a Denso one. I like knowing I have a quality part on something that critical.

That's impressive. Mine went at 180k, like 14 years or so. Maybe being out in the desert it lasts longer than down here in the humid south. My mom's 4th gen alternator went at 11 years and only 80k miles.

That's exactly what my OE one did when it went. Maybe look into getting it rebuilt. That's what I should have done.

If I run the CS 144 upgrade, I'll pull a spare alternator from the junk yard and keep it in the vehicle as a spare. It doesn't take but 20 minutes or so to swap an alternator with the right tools so I'll always have a back up. There's now a harness to convert your plug to the CS144 plug so I would just have to remove the harness.

There's an alternator and starter rebuild shop in town. I've considered going that route to, or getting a rebuilt OEM one from Toyota directly.

Not completely sold on either yet

Just called the shop that does rebuilds. About $85 out the door for it.
5.0 stars out of 40+ reviews so that may be my go to.

I'd go that route. Cheaper and quality.

Seems like the way to go. Plus a warranty held by somewhere local. Any problems and they'll be the quickest to trouble shoot with.

Probably dropping off another OEM bum one that's in the back of the 4Runner off tomorrow.

I think my spoiler is killing my highway MPG...it's gotten a lot worse since putting it back on (truck has a good rake to it, wing sits way higher than the rest of the roof). Of course that's going to go all the way to shit once I put the roof rack back on next week...

Alright. Might buy this thing. Calculating my budget, with the amount I'd save in gas plus my mileage reimbursement from my company, I'd go from a 70 dollar defecit each month to a 150 dollar surplus mileage wise. Cuts most of the payment I'd owe on the 86 out so I think I might buy one this week.

So as a whole, my budget would be affected by like 50 bucks.

I'm so stoked to have a quick little car! Calling mercury at lunch to get an insurance quote and going to test drive the T86 tomorrow. They have blue or Black. I think I like blue.

Do it! They're a black hole for money though, it'll be stock for 6 months before you start modding
