I’ve bought aftermarket ones and they don’t fit right. I didn’t think abou CVJs, I’ll have to do that.

I’ll be doing this this summer.

You’re in VA Beach? Ever get out to wheel or anything?

I do but I believe they are aftermarket. Previous owner didn’t know if they were OEM (obviously didn’t do his own work) and I have no clue how to tell if they are.

Woot! Finally got my hatch working. Been messing with it all week and nothing worked. Had a lightbulb moment tonight and realized when the accident happened on the donor truck (flipped) it taco’d the hatch a bit. So it was too short and not latching right. Well pushing up in the tailgate a bunch straightened it out. Be nice to have the 4runner back.

You should still stuff all the way to the bumpstops or the limit of your shocks. When I changed to a stiffer coil the amount of stuff or flex I got didn't change.

There's a set of King 2.5" rear shocks w/piggybacks for sale on T4R. Contemplating getting them. I had been thinking about outboarding the rear shocks, but those Kings would bolt straight in, which is nice.

My current shocks are 14.5" compressed, and 23.5" extended, while the Kings are 13.8" compressed, and 22.4" extended. So I'd lose half an inch of travel, lose an inch of droop, but gain almost an inch of compression.

    Any thoughts?

Saw those. I think they’ve had rubbing issues between the frame and tires.
    And outboarding looks better

Part of me wants to do it so I have a solid set up all around that's bolt in.

And part of me wants to hold off and outboard a set of reservoir shocks, but that'll cost probably $400-$500 more by the time I'm done with it. I've seen those issues with the rubbing, but some seem to have it and some don't. Not sure if it's install error or what.

Do it. You can't go wrong and if you ever want to go outboard, or feel the need, you can easily sell the Kings for roughly what you have in them.

Do you really need compression adjusters? For normal wheeling, it seems like most people set them and leave them.

Kinda what I'm thinking. It's one of the few things I could get most of my money back out of if I would decide to go a different route.

I probably don't need them, but they'd be nice for the several hundred pound difference between daily driving and when I'm loaded up on a trip. You're right though, 9 times out of 10 I'd just set them and leave them.
