Was so pissed yesterday. Have to remove the air box and tubing for the plugs on the passenger side. Not a big deal. Get it all back together and start it up and back it out. One of the coil rubber isolator pads was on the ground. Guess which side it fell off of.

Finally working on my 4runner. She’s getting new LBJ’s, cv boots, tundra brakes, oil change, sway bar bushings, breather extension, rear axle seals/new rear axles (used) and lowering my lift a bit. Real pain in the ass trying to do all of this at 10 at night or 20 min at a time during the day. Damn kids.

Toying with the idea of selling my 3rd gen for a 4th gen. I want a v8 so we can tow whatever we want with it, something newer and slightly bigger to haul the puppies. So it's come down to selling my built 3rd for a v8 4th. Anything I should look for or keep an eye out when it comes to shopping for a 4th gen?

Didn’t the v8 have manifold issues?

Is the v8 worth it? I'd be towing every now and then, not all the time Looking to tow the boyfriend's 1st gen taco when it's long traveled and sometimes a rzr and a few quads during dune season. But I want to throw 34s or 35s on it so the v8 would help with that as well without having to regear right away

You’d be fine. It’d do it

I had 34’s on my Tundra with the VVTI V8. Had some power loss but still tons of power there. You should be fine towing every so often with it. Consistent, long distance towing I would look elsewhere though. A regear would obviously help but not necessary.

Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks dudes. It'll literally only tow like 4 times a year if that, longest distance would be from Phoenix to Glamis. I have 34s on my 3rd gen with 4.30 gears and that's serious power loss. I'm sure a v8 would still be much better. I plan to regear it eventually, just wanted to see if it's something that can wait

I haven’t regeared on my 315s yet with my V8. I only notice on steep grades when I’m trying to maintain 80mph :anonymous:

No plans to regear anytime soon.

    I’ll re-gear it, don’t worry.

I’ve debated on it just to gain more power.

That's dope. Basically that's what I'm wanting. I barely maintain 70mph on a flat freeway with no wind. And it's fucking irritating. I would regear the 4th eventually just to do it
