Mine seems to want to cruise at 70-75. That seems to be the sweet spot for highway cruising.

I like to cruise. It's when I've gotta drop gears to simply stay at 70, otherwise it'll drop to 60 no problem with me just cruising. I was getting ready to regear, then thought a 4th gen would just be the best way to go.

Yeah you won’t “need” gears with the V8 but I considered it for hills. Never had an issue keeping speed like my 3rd gen on 34’s and the v8 really goes when you step on it.

maybe i just have more expectation but the v8 is powerful but definitely not quick by any means.

You know what would be quick, your new 2006 GMC CCSB on a LT kit with a small bed cage and a low pro bed rack for tent

    Well considering I've driven a 22re, 3.0, 2 3.4's and a 4.7 over the years, I'm not the best judge for quickness...

I also had the VVTI, which does add about 35hp and torque and not weighted down as much as your pig. Compared to some of the American V8's, the 4.7 is underpowered.

I don't need quick, it's an suv so I don't expect it to be quick. But I would like more power to be able to cruise hauling or weighted down.

My fenders are cut high enough that the tube from the air box to the snorkel can be seen.

I might try to heat it up and bend it. Really need my welder back though before I cut more sheet metal to make room for this 3” PVC pipe hahaha

Hanging below the cut. Supposedly you can fill PVC with sand, heat it up, and bend it

Over 600 miles within a week of acquiring the Runner. Love this thing. Best decision.

Trying to figure out a price for my 3rd gen when I sell it but really have no clue. Let me know your guys thoughts.

    99 192K
    4wd, Highlander
    Tundra wheels/34" BFG KO2's (80%)
    Tundra brakes
New LBJ's, cv boots, diff fluids, valve cover gaskets, tune up, rear axle seals
5100/eibach up front and 5100/LC in the back
    CBI Plate rear
    3/16" front skid
Overall a clean truck for it's age.
Salvage title: hit front and rear, all damage fixed besides small 2" ding on hood.

Was thinking 4K due to Bay Area pricing and it is pretty much good to go at this point.

Sounds like a damn good deal to me.

I’d figure that you could get that. Think that’d be pretty reasonable if it was local
