Did that on my XJ when I had it, worked well but was a pain in the ass to do welding sheet metal.

May work on 3rd gens but I don’t see you gaining more then an inch of clearance and I don’t see it being worth it

4th gens it wouldn’t work on because the bottom of the door wraps a round the bottom of body 84236181-3EB9-4D3C-855D-7528580A1009.jpg

If committed to clearance, trim the bottom of the door and raise the sill/floor. Create a tub.

I have no desire for that at all, just pointing it out as a reason it probably hasn't been a trend on runners

I can't quite wrap my head around how you would do this with a body of frame. You'd have to tie it into the frame with some sort of bushing mount that will still have to flex a bit with the body on bushing mounts, but yet strong enough to take the brute of the impact of rocks without lifting the body off the frame by the factory body mounts.

Or does that mean you turn it into a boat side like they do for jeeps?

Yup, solid mount body and give up the bushings.

I think it’s my battery actually. Just got to my parents house. I drove for an hour at 11.6-12 volts. No issues driving other than the light on.

Ya I thought about that after I posted it. I have my Factory alternator if this one is bad. Battery is on the charger while I eat and I’ll go from there. Should be no biggie

Well battery took a charge over night and checked okay. Swapped my Factory alternator back in and I’m back at 14 volts easy fix.

After 2 crap aftermarket alternators I switched back to a denso. Denso or bust.

I had an upgraded 200amp alternater in. This is now the second time it has acted up on me. Last time the voltage regulator was flopping around with a loose connection causein voltage spikes. I guess I’ll have to open it up again and see what’s wrong.

I haven't had a problem with the stock alternators output, and I like the reliability. Can't beat it. Should have just had my oem one rebuilt when I had my first issues.
