I’m in a tiny town in Texas and my 900sq ft house cost $37,000 to build. It’s a $250,000 house if it was in Monterey

I’m used to somewhat inflated prices since I live at the beach but all the shit out there is just insane. Definitely will pay more for less
I’ll be in the Bay Area and it’s ridiculous. My lady friend is in grad school at UC Davis and has relatively cheap rent but I don’t think I could handle an hour and a half commute from her place to work everyday. And what’s without traffic

I’ll likely be in the Pleasanton/Livermore area so sac is out of the question. There’s a couple small towns or whatever outside of that area but even those are expensive for what I’m used to. Looking for somewhere close enough to work that I can bike so I don’t have to worry about paying for gas but those places are $$$. Gas is still under $2.50 for me at home so I’m a little shellshocked by all the increases

I’ve been through Vacaville a lot recently just going with my lady friend being in Davis. She has a couple classmates that live there and commute into Davis. I’ve looked into living there but I just don’t want the commute. Once I see how much monies I’ll bring home, I’ll start seriously looking for places.
Appreciate the offer for references and all, I’ll definitely be taking you up on that when the time comes

lol "commute". Here you have to commute to make the big $. I drive 26 miles to work and spend 40 min each way. Nature of the beast. But also VV-Davis, that traffic is rougher than what i go through.

I’m used to like a 10-15 minute commute with no traffic, don’t even need to get on the highway.
I know I’ll get paid more out there but expenses are more. It’ll all balance out, I just need to actually draw up my expenses. Lady friend will graduate from masters in 2020 and is fine with the Livermore area so I’m considering a VV-Livermore commute for a year since I won’t start till July-Aug. VV puts me closer to her too, which would be nice-but anything will be closer than where I am now.

thats gonna be brutal. I used to commute VV-Pleasanton and it was 2 hours in the morning and 3 at night. On top of my 8-10 hour day. it sucked the life out of me. Dont forget the $5 bridge toll daily.

I did Davis to Livermore last week and made it in an hour and 20. Must’ve gotten really lucky though. I took 80-680-580 there and the bridge back.
I only really found out that this could happen last week and will get more information around this time next week. Once I get a better understanding from them, I’ll probably annoy you with some questions since Pleasanton is right next to Livermore and you know that commute and area.

Got her leveled out. The icon wrench design is amazing. Works so easily. Hopefully get an alignment tomorrow and then we start working on armor

    Fuck all this commuting nonsense

Cage things instead. My commute Friday was 500 miles and it took 5.5 hours, then caged for 8 hours.

Mine are 1/4" steel and pretty fucked. Only my front skid fits now, everything else needs to be hammered to fit. No motivation to straighten them since I'm not doing any real wheeling till I move. Don't want to break something and be stuck here.
