I’ve used my rock lights more as camp lights than actual rock lights. No shame in it

Do the same thing with my reverse light. It’s mounted on my swing out and I have it wired as a reverse light and through a diode so I can use it via switch as well. Helps as a more focused beam for around camp when setting up a tent or making dinner

my LEDs inside the RTT are life savers too. Im planning to add some under the tent to light up there as well. All off battery pack with a switch. Easy.

Alright 3rd gen owners, taking a poll here - if you could start your 3rd gen build over, what would you look for in the starting vehicle. I ask this specifically because I plan to travel west this summer and get another 3rd gen (mine has rotted the frame in the new england salt) so I want to stick with the same platform since I have a lot of parts already for this specific vehicle.

99-00, low miles, lots of maintenance records. That's about it.

I was looking at 99-00 for the multimatic transmission and possible e-locker. Anything else specific I should look for in those years?

Ya but they still use 4 bolts, and you have to buy their spindle for uniball haha

Yeah, I'm just not sure if I want the added width of long travel. I think I'd be just as happy with factory width, build LCA, spindle, and UCA

That's probably what I would look for. Make sure it's well kept, they're 20 years old now.

2018 was the wettest year in 129 years here locally. I feel like I hardly ever see the sun anymore...

Perfect that’s what I will look out for and I know my current rig has OEM parts with less than 25k miles so I plan to swap a ton before I get rid of it. I have a new timing belt kit waiting to be installed as well.

im trying real hard not to snorkel up but i need to do something with my intake because its collecting more and more dirt.

if i do snorkel up itll be hidden in the glass until the A pillar.

those in CA, that doesnt affect smog right? since the OEM box is still there?

wondering if i should just get the LC snorkel and test fit. I dont think id need to cut around much to get the tube out at the A Pillar

that is the plan. Unless i make my own black tube and run it tight until the a-pillar then up and top it with a snorkel top.

fenders are pretty fat. Been doing photo comparisons but thats pretty tough to do accurately.
