I’ve seen your 4runner and would love to pick it up, but budget isn’t there. Hence the “project” designation...haha. Debating waiting another year or two and buying something built right already or trying to pick up a sub 2k project and slowly doing it all myself.

We wanted to do a project for 2k. But this came along. It was street driven and quite a bit more expensive than the original budget. It needed help so we did some upgrades. It’s been a great rig. I will definitely miss it when she finally goes.

Baby tires and first wheeling trip.

But then upgrades happened because age and wheeling. Breaking birfs, killing tires, etc. RCVs, Toyos, etc. Kinda wish we would’ve taken her to KOH this year. But the Powerwagon did just fine.

Yeah it’s $ to build from the ground up, but can also be expensive if you have to keep fixing someone else’s mistakes. Ultimate goal would be an 88 or 89 and 3.4 swap it. There is a guy locally selling a complete engine/trans/wiring/exhaust swap that he did in his 92. Wish I had a rig and money to just go for it as all the little pieces you have to acquire/fab is going to be a pain.

Fellas, my buddy has a 98 4runner and the low beams stopped working out of the blue. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t. We know the bulbs are good. Relay seems fine. No fuses are blown. So this leads me to believe its a bad ground?

    Where is the ground?

    Any advice on fixing this?

Installed the prolink I got for Christmas. Blue to match the kings. Gives the front end a cleaner look I think.

Anybody here ever changed a front wiper fluid motor on a 4th gen 4Runner? Mine seems to have finally bit the dust but my rear still works so obviously there are separate motors. Im at work and have very limited internet access to search it. Any video site is blocked and about 90% pictures are as well.

Shouldn’t be muc different than a second gen tacoma. I had to do it on a buddy’s tacoma once and followed a video on youtube. You should be able to do the same :)

Anybody know what the life expectancy of a 3rd gen 5spd manual clutch should be?

Looking at a runner with 230k, claiming to still be on the stock clutch...

Clutch life’s depend on driver and use. A stock tire size and highway use clutch will last forever.

A drag raced or big tires off-road or “learning how to drive a standard” clutch won’t last long.
